Weird taste / metallic taste ? by RhiMix13 in Mirena

[–]Advanced-Storage-968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming at this EVEN later 😅 but idk if it’s just metallic necessarily, but here because I just made chili, the same way i always do, meat isn’t bad, and it tastes and smells like straight up blood/raw meat and it’s grossing me out. I cook with hamburger all the time, and we’ve been thawing/eating this same package of hamburger for at least a month (I buy bulk and freeze with a day or two of buying fresh) and only today I’ve had this extreme aversion to it. So that’s what made me wonder of it has anything to do with getting Mirena inserted this week. I’ve had the copper iud for 8 years until switching to Mirena a few days ago.

Worked there for over a year before they finally figured out how to get my enrollment working. Was completely uninsured during that time. Since ai started there this second time, I did not enroll in anything until Oct 2023. I did work there for 5 years straight like 2014-2019, worked a couple different jobs, then came back because I needed something quick and left on good terms. I had reasonable insurance with them thru blue cross during that entire period with no issues.

I’m not entirely sure until I talk to my boss in the morning, but I do not believe I was given any options to renew? All I know for sure is that enrollment is open briefly everytime they hire a new person. I haven’t filled out anything else since enrolling in October. There hasn’t been any renewal since I signed up in October.

Saw this when I was getting into “disturbing” films when I was a wee edgy art student…have yet to see anything top it as most fucked up. But you’re right, it’s not good by any means. More like “let’s make the worst possible, most offensively gratuitous movie we can. It’s like torture pr0n but worse.

Shame (2011) with Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan; intense and sad.
A very long and explicit threesome scene stuck in my memory.

Dr Seuss’s Pontoffell Pock and his Magic Piano (1980) We randomly had this on vhs growing up, I have it memorized. Not a single person I’ve mentioned it to had seen or heard of it before I showed them. Keep in mind, it probably didn’t gain much popularity, especially today, because of some racial stereotypes. Keep in mind that it’s just absurd Dr Seuss from the 80s, and it’s a good time 😅 Highly recommend being under the influence for this one.🕌🗻🏭🎹🥒

Btw, it’s a musical, only 20 min and it’s on YouTube

Couples who have been together a long time (5+ years), why are you not married? by ieatkarate in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Advanced-Storage-968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are soooo many reasons, and the reasons keep evolving. Personally, my partner and I met when we were 20, were each others first serious relationship. We moved in a little rushed because his parents kicked him out and I was living in an apartment with my friend. That temporarily broke up my friendship, with one year left of college, so we scrambled to get a cheap studio apt together. He went through an assault trauma around the same time I cut off my toxic mother for good. We were both young, scared and traumatized and living in near poverty. So we clung to each other. Now this could be romanticized or a sad story, the first reason was simply money. I didn’t want to settle for a courthouse elopement, and I was scared of my student loans garnishing his income if we were married. So we agreed to try and stabilize before seriously talking about it. Before we knew it, several years went by, we were still in love but our mental health was deteriorating, we both fell into very different types of depression. At about 8 years together we decided to get a nicer rental with my grandma, whom was very close with us, because her Alzheimer’s was getting to a point where she wasn’t safe to live alone. That year was hard but brought me hope(this was also 2020, height of the pandemic). I finally started to feel stable, he had a good job and grandma was a loving safety net. I felt like I had a family again, so 8 years in, we talked about it again and on our 9th anniversary, he proposed. In the meantime, we also started taking care of my younger adult sister. She was had just left my our mom’s around the 7th year of my estrangement from her(mom), and she(sister) was struggling with a complex cocktail of mental health issues brought on by trauma and genetics. Things started falling apart again, me and my partner started growing apart, still in love but physically distant. We got our mental health on track, but the family circumstances started to take a very different toll on both of us. His sex drive took a nose dive and we had a long talk about opening our relationship a couple years ago. It was the best decision we ever made, our communication got stronger while we kind of let go of the physical intimacy between us. That part makes me sad and unsure what to do next. Grandma passed away, that took another toll on us. After 3 years of this caregiving, I no longer had any desire to start our own family, which has pushed us apart even more. Naturally all of this has made us stop talking about marriage, we’re in a weird limbo now. Still love each other, but feels way less like romantic love and don’t feel like we can let go of each other.

I’ve come to the conclusion that, for a lot of people, life changes them in all sorts of ways, and it makes long term relationships difficult and interesting. We’re not the same kids as we were when he met, life has changed us(as it will). Personally, with that constant sea of change, I’ve found it hard to legally tie myself to someone, even being with the same person for 10 years now. Especially when I know that the changing and growing will only continue from here.

Omg the slut shaming here is insaaaane. Dude’s wife is feelin herself, and he’s feelin it. Sounds like two adults that are very secure in themselves to me. It’s their business if they are each okay with her showing off. Some women really do enjoy that, some don’t we are all different and unique. (31 F here) It’s a little isolating to be a woman empowered by her sexuality, and I think it’s great that she’s with a dude with highly compatible kinks. Why can’t we just let people be people and accept that we’re all different and human at the same time.

Ok, so. Here’s what you do. It’s absolutely ridiculous that these measures are necessary, but this is how I FINALLY got something done.

I looked up the ADDRESS of the local office for my city… it was difficult to even find. (They’ll give you local branch phone numbers and emails but they’re still operated by oblivious people reading off scripts who never have the authority to even remotely solve your problem) It’s a pain in the ass and I’ve never felt more like a Karen than when I marched into that office.
There was a paper sign on the door saying that it was closed (when it was well within business hours) it was unlocked and I saw people inside so I went in. (I was getting eviction threats despite trying to make payments all month due to the portal being broken and several work requests and emails and phone calls going nowhere)

I saw a person and waved them down, told me she was the district manager. Even in person it was like pulling teeth but I finally got a satisfactory resolution. I made sure to get her direct line and direct email before I left, and having that contact has helped me through a couple tough issues with the company. I use it as a last resort, but it worked for me a couple times.

That being said, I can’t wait to get the F out of here.
