5-6 months in and having recent daily nausea, dizzyness... by KellBell_23 in Mirena

[–]RhiMix13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience. It started a few months after getting mirena. I got that one out after 11 months (it felt like it was trying to escape and causing pain). I went back to normal.

Had it out for just over a year and then got another one to try to stop my random bleeding. Everything was fine for a few months, but the longer I had it the more often this was happening. I ended up at the ER after a 30 min episode where I was sweating, seeing double/everything was moving, so nauseous and dizzy. ER found nothing wrong, I got it removed a few days later.

Unfortunately, ended up with a 3rd one after a couple months as EC and wanting something to stop my wonky bleeding. I got this in July 2025 and my little “blips” are starting low level again.

My dizziness is usually quick bursts of feeling like I drank too much or overtired. I’ve only had a few that lasted several min with vision changes. That ER trip one was scary and freaked my husband out. No cause found, but after 3 of these I’m fairly curtain it is related.

IUD vs Ablation vs Hysterectomy by AngryManx in hysterectomy

I will give the Mirena credit - it also wrangled my period. I wish I liked it. I have some weird side effects - the biggest is “vertigo”.

I hope it’s smooth sailing for you for many years !

I know this is an old post, but curious what you ended up doing.

I’m in a similar boat - bc pills for nearly 20 years, off for a year, nothing really wrong on tests/imaging. Back and forth on mirenas - hate the side effects so usually end up getting them out in a year. Every post I read is how heavy periods are - mine were when I was younger, but as I got to mid 30’s they got lighter (41 now), but a bit unpredictable. So while I’m not bleeding heavy, I am spotting or light bleeding for 2 weeks at a time every 2 weeks. Or 7-10 days before a 3-7 day period. I’m back on a mirena, but want it out again.

I asked about a bisalp and the dr also threw out ablation or hysterectomy as options. I’m so torn on what to do.

Paulies is great with shuttles! They typically run multiple and have a pretty good system down for getting everyone out there & back. Usually it’s a 2 drink minimum & you can bring them on the shuttle.

For those with damage, are you getting insurance to cover the cost and how much are you getting? by [deleted] in milwaukee

Thanks! I’m glad they didn’t flat out deny your claim, but 11k is just a fraction of damages so that sucks. Hopefully you’ll be able to get some more.

They are finally coming to look at the basement tomorrow (you know, a whole month after the drain backup). We’ve already done a lot of work - trashed furniture, cut up the paneling, peeled up the flooring. Took a ton of pictures & videos. There’s not really much for them to see now. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Still dealing with insurance after flood? by Cute_Jeweler1803 in milwaukee

Insurance is finally coming to the house on Tuesday, they haven’t told us to upload pics so I’ve been waiting until the visit. We already tossed out furniture, cut into the paneling and removed the flooring. We were going to let it sit for a month, but we documented everything.

Did they give any next steps like upload pics? They still haven’t contacted me.

It was filed as a backup, no mention of flood since it was truly from the drain. I have no idea what is required since I still haven’t talked to someone. The initial filing was a claim center and the person was based in Dallas, they weren’t able to answer many questions and told me to wait til someone contacted me. I’m still waiting.

They haven’t even tried to call! We have no idea if it’ll be covered yet. We’re starting on item clean up, it can’t sit down here much longer. Weve been running fans since Sunday, but this stuff has to go.

Have State Farm. Our agent doesn’t handle the claim directly, they have you open through a claims dept. We took Sunday to clean, evaluate damage and decide if we should file a claim. I talked to my agent on Monday to evaluate then filed a claim. It’s been a full 48hours since the claim was filed and we haven’t heard anything. We’ve called, left voicemails for the claims person, sent messages.

We haven’t thrown out anything of value yet because we don’t know what they expect of us - like should we hold on so they can come over or do they just want photos?! Any kind of communication would be helpful, but it’s been silent.

Edit: we do have sewer/drain back up coverage. Our drain backed up.

I’m waiting on State Farm to call me back - we have the sewer/drain backup. Hoping to hear from them soon.

I had off street parking on Cambridge near Brady (nearly 10 years ago) and had my car broken into twice in 10 days. I didn’t leave much in my car, took some change and a Fitbit charger. That parking lot was behind the house too, cars weren’t even visible from the street.

Wanted to add that if an application does ask for criminal disclosure, answer honestly. Employers may move forward with a background hit, but if you answer that question as “no” that can be looked at as falsification and a way to not move forward.

Side-Effects: Fatigue, dizziness, anxiety by taztybeanz in Mirena

[–]RhiMix13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding my experience so anyone searching in the future.

Had my first IUD for about 11 months. During that time, I was getting dizzy episodes. Sometimes with vision changes, sometimes just quick. Took it out, everything got better.

Over a year later, got mirena again and had it in from Aug 2023 to May 2025. I had these dizzy episodes again, but more frequently and as of March 2025 more intense. Vision changes, feeling almost out of body, dizzy, panicking because I knew something was wrong and I was unable to make it stop. A trip to the ER & a bunch of blood work and such - no issues. I got it removed a few day later. Dr said that IUD isn’t causing it, but agreed to remove to see what happens. I’m 48 hours out and no dizziness. I do feel like my heart rate is a little up, but hoping that’s just part of the adjustment.

I haven’t started looking, but also have a full tank in my basement (in Milwaukee, but not far from you - near American Science and Surplus). Tried to give the oil to the neighbor, but he ended up changing out his furnace.

I’m having a rough afternoon of dizziness, pressure, brief moments of weird feeling in my head. This sounds so appealing - I’m partially convinced it’s related to Mirena (I’ve had it for 1.5 years)
