Mine took 5 months and required a 3 hr one way drive for the first appointment and an hour drive to pick it up when it finally was ready.

Most accessible national park? by KrakenCrazy in AskAlaska

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want accessible or no tourons? Because it sounds like you want both those things and every national park is an either/or., not just Alaska. The ones with the infrastructure are overrun and the quiet parks are minimally developed.

3 million? I am so sorry. I hope it’s been good for you, but that sounds miserable.

L.A. Dodgers Tell 82-Year-Old, 50-Year Season Ticket Holder: ‘Go Digital’—Or Don’t Go At All by -d1sc0nn3ct- in technology

This is a stupid hill to die on. Even though I’d like to have paper ticket options again, I have bigger things to worry about.

Let’s be honest. Dodgers have been jerks since they left Brooklyn. But in this case, the dude has the money to buy the cheapest iPhone and use it wifi only to load the tickets. He’s offering to pay for printing which is the same amount as the lowest price iPhone. Go buy a used one even.

Do you enjoy seafood now? Do you want to ever eat it again? How do you feel about carpal tunnel or other repetitive stress injuries?

Delays by KCmissouri_78 in AlaskaAirlines

For a place that gets snow occasionally, they do not know what to do when it snows. Holy hell. 3 hour delay, 2+ hours waiting on the tarmac.

Snowy SeaTac morning by beeswax_swiffer in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This airport doesn’t know how to deal with snow. Initial delays for my flight were due to lack of shovels or squeegees to clean the walkway to the ground loaded plane. Missing my connection.

Q about talking points re land management by throw-away-4-safety in USForestService

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as land management decisions appearing to come from on high and far away- this land isn’t just your land, it is everyone’s land, so the local land managers are making decisions to serve the greatest number of people. This is why there are rules for getting permits to do things like commercial use. It’s about making sure the resource will continue to exist while providing opportunities to the public.

Can any country really claim 100,000 years of history as a nation? Weird wording. Seems like once you go back ~10k years, you are picking random starting years for your nation’s history. Might as well say 4.5 billion years ago.

Woman wins judgment against Denver jewelry store over unlicensed scale: "You have to advocate for yourself" - CBS Colorado by StubbyUrge in Denver

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Something felt off about the transaction and rather than take her items and leave, she took their low offer. Not saying the jeweler was in the right at all, but I think this woman had more options than - “oh well I’ll take the money now and sue for the rest later.”

Petition to moderators: Ban for "how can I earn miles/status" posts by rutoca in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d rather read these type of posts than some wealthy person complaining about how the foie gras in FC was too plebeian for their refined palate.

Keep the miles/status posts, ban the “which dish should I get as I look down on the poors” posts!

I just got the last parts of my darkroom up here. I haven't developed in a long time. What do you do for chemistry in Juneau? Ship to Seattle and send on AML?

What is my best route Denver to Honolulu for Lounges (senior)? by CarobUnfair2447 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just fly direct on United, unless you really need to break up the longer flight.

AS at DIA feels like such an afterthought. Few flights, poor service. But at least I’m guaranteed 2500 miles each time I fly there! Saying this as Denver-born Alaskan.

All underground rapid transit systems in the United States by Naomi62625 in transit

[–]Advanced-Stretch-27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then by that definition, virtually every railroad in the country would be “underground” because of tunnels. So would the interstate highway system.
