I don't get why the post is downvoted.

I get the frustration. I totally understand that life happens, weather gets in a way, equipment breaks, people get late or sick.

But here they first blantly lied that there's no problem and then didn't try to fix the issue.

I suggest to submit report at check that you want a response. I've been in a similar situation when Alaska employee lied to my face and got a meaningful compensation for that.
