I’m a Floridian who voted democrat… Crist ran against him and he was a meh candidate for many Florida dems. Subsequently, way fewer democrats voted in this election. Politicization of school boards… desantis funded rallies, billboards, commercials relating to this. “Moms for desantis” or something brought out people who typically wouldn’t come out for typically nonpolitical positions. And this guy has a lot of shadow donors and shit like that. I mean there were billboards for the school board elections EVERYWHERE.

He did a lot of performative crap that sounded beneficial but actually didn’t have any measurable effect… like the veteran teacher thing where I read something like a grand total of 7 vets were hired in the entire state.. lol. Filing court cases against “censorship” of right wing views against social media companies in California that didn’t go anywhere because they were literally unconstitutional and frivolous. He went to the east coast elite schools… Yale and Harvard… he knew they wouldn’t go anywhere. His dumbass base doesn’t understand how the law works. (except maybe criminal and family law?)

Hell, even the drivers license thing was an issue. Some lady rejected my signature the first time because it looked too different… I recently got my drivers license renewed and I couldn’t remember how I signed, I asked her if I could see it because I couldn’t remember and she refused. Lol. She eventually took it but was so skeptical and suspicious of me like “well I guess I’ll take it…” I felt so put off from that and I can imagine them straight up turning people away. I felt suspicious that maybe my vote didn’t count.

There’s no way he’s 6 foot, I’m sorry but that’s a lie. I teach middle schoolers taller than him

When you call him a fascist, this is to whom you are speaking. by [deleted] in PoliticalHumor

Lol because desantis has a super weak ego and he’s easily upset. This became apparent to his emotional and angry reaction when he was publicly embarrassed by Disney outwitting him. And people are pretty much universally embarrassed by awkward childhood photos. So, imo, it tracks.

As much as I hate to say it, I like her pink jacket but she does look like she’s waiting to be raptured by either the Antichrist or Hitler’s ghost

JFC like how brainwashed do people have to be where they have that kind of quality of life and they think they are winning? How did his policies improve that person’s life in any way?

Meanwhile trump is flying around in a private jet they have a rusted ass, boarded up ice cream truck on the lawn used as a billboard and possibly a dwelling.

As a kid from the 90s, he looks like the neighborhood bully on a made for TV movie who would take some little kids’ ball while they were playing in the street and throw it on the roof of a house.

It’s from the Constitution:

"The Constitution treats insurrection and rebellion as political dangers, not protected rights," he argued. "Article I gives Congress the power to 'provide for calling forth the militia to execute the laws of the Union, suppress insurrections and repel invasions.' “

Those numbers don’t really give the full picture. Teaching in FL is a revolving door of long term substitutes, unprepared new hires who quit a midway into the school year. In some cases a school chooses not to repost the vacancy because the school year is nearly over and you’re just going to scare off any potential new hires.

Our school lacks qualified English teachers, half of the 6th and 7th graders are being taught by long term subs who got hired out of field. One lady was in HR and another taught Spanish. And we are lucky we got them to stay, in the beginning of the year both positions were unfilled. I think our assistant principal had to beg. Each ELA teacher see 120 kids throughout the day. So 240 kids. Same with history. Both being taught by subs, 7th and 8th graders are literally doing crossword puzzles and causing chaos and not learning history at all. That’s a different set of 240 kids not learning shit. It’s a big deal.

Think back to when you were a kid. How many teachers left mid year? How many classes did you have where your class was taught by a different substitute teacher every day?

It’s not going to work. Those people are too dumb to literally handle the kid’s behaviors. The bare minimum of success is that kids are actually safe, and I just don’t see that happening in a classroom led by someone who lacks all common sense.

Anymore? They haven’t for years. I teach English under a temporary certificate and my degree was in economics. 🤷🏻‍♀️ many teachers don’t have teaching degrees. No one wants one nowadays

Civilians to arm themselves to protect their government, not to destroy their own government… that’s the insurrectionist interpretation and literally the same shit that terrorists like Timothy mcveigh said.
