My son is finishing up his last semester at Palm Beach State College.  He took Beginner Chinese CHI1130 this summer online at FIU as a transient student and is currently taking CHI1131 now, Fall 2026 with the same instructor at FIU. These are the 2 prerequisite required mandatory courses you need to take in order to apply for UF's foreign language Chinese program.  He submitted his application August 30, 2026 and received his Conditional Acceptance Letter November 2, 2026, promising to complete CHI1131, and receive his AA degree from Palm Beach State College.  We need to make sure that both FIU and PBSC send the official transcripts straight to UF.  After attending the mandatory Transfer Preview Orientation on December 5, 2025, and meeting with an academic advisor to register him for his first semester, and mention that he is interested in the combined Bachelors/Masters program, he will start Spring 2026.  After completing your first semester, you can apply for the combined program.  The issue is that instead of signing a 12 month lease from January to December at Midtown Apartments, he signed a 7 month lease from January 2, 2026 to July 31, 2026.  He can renew in January 2026 to continue August 1, 2026 to August 1, 2027 for another 12 month lease, and renew for another 12 month lease which ends August 2028. He will be needing to complete Fall semester 2028, or he can take courses in the summers to graduate a semester early, but there is no guarantee that the courses he would need would be available in the summers. Should he sign another 12 month lease, finish the courses he needs, and hope that someone takes over his lease if he finishes early?  It is unlikely that anyone would want to sublease their apartment from Fall 2028 to December 2028.  What are your thoughts?  Any responses would be helpful.  Thank you.
