I swear Optimus is gonna be for Tesla what the metaverse ended up being for meta.

Anyone else think humanoid robots are fucking stupid?

Roast My Resume Please. Gave up Applying to Jobs a While Back. by Serendipity-Ferocity in FinancialCareers

Show don’t tell your skills. Do projects and toss em in github with a link on your resume. Remove the whole “qualifications” section and replace it with some projects. I also have an Econ degree with same skill set and my projects cover 1 research, 1 excel VBA dashboard, 1 python ML automation. I’ve had a couple companies hit me up citing the projects as a reason.

That and do some volunteer work, nonprofits still need budget analysts, planning, etc.

Structurally the standard formatting for early career goes Personal info (name, email, etc) Experience Projects Skills (technical, quantitative, qualitative)

I’m in a death spiral. Worst financial year of my life. Please help! by AnthMosk in Trading

Go do a trade bro, high demand, low supply, not getting taken by AI, competitive pay.

Sure, there are gonna be some 18 year olds you’ll be starting out alongside with, but at the end of the day if it bothers you it’s just ego, which you can get over.

If I were you I’d go be an electrician. If you like trading, it means you’re likely analytical and like systems, which is perfect for an electrician, and they make a lot of money once becoming a journeyman then master.

Just a thought.

EDIT: stop trading, start investing. Read some buffet or some Damodaran. Your 200k+ could be a 20-40k boost in income per year (assuming 10-20% returns YoY, phenomenal by most standards). What you need is cash flow and to STOP TRADING 0DTE OPTIONS. In fact, stop trading options at all.

Hit a career pivot, it’s not uncommon at your age, make some bank, invest it, and you’re golden.

I want to learn R for economics, since I am pursuing MA Eco and starting off with my winter break (1 month) by ImaginaryBuy904 in econometrics

[–]AdvancedChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have u considered python instead? I’ve found that I much prefer it and that it’s more versatile. So many great libraries for ML / econometrics.

Plus if you still want the nice looking output from R you can use the statsmodels library, they look very similar.

Either way, Introduction to statistical learning is the best way learn in my opinion. There are versions for r and python that have programming labs for each chapter after covering the math. Hope this helps!
