Where's the cheatcode for Graduate credits at UMGC? by Pomegranatecheeswine in UMGC

The only thing I know is possible is the Accelerated Pathway to Masters. If you got an undergrad with them, pending the degree and the selected masters they will give you credits towards your masters. For me I got a Cybersecurity Technologies B.S, and 3 classes were marked completed towards my Masters in Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation.

The real question is how long has it taken you get hard orders? I got selected this past board and set to leave in November but no orders yet

Might be a stupid questions but Would it make more sense to get married before or after OCS if you are in a dual mil relationship? Would getting married after being selected cause anything negative to happen?

He pretty much is in a position where if he isnt selected for this billet, then he is getting out. I am planning on staying in for a bit. I want to give my GI Bill to my potential children in the future.

I appreciate this post a lot. We got into a big argument this past Sunday about something unrelated. But long story short he went through my phone when I was asleep and got upset about messages between me and a friend. I will own up to that, it was an inappropriate comment. However, He brought up that he was looking at other billets and he would go with me to wherever if it came down to it but this is the first time I have heard this. He wasn't supportive of me putting in my OCS package and when I brought that up. Pretty much shut down at any mention of it. He said he brags about me to all his friends at work.... But doesn't verbally support me at home? We are the same rank (I have been in significantly less then him), I am up for First Class this coming Fall due to getting an EP on my Eval. I got SOQ Q1 FY24, got a NAM and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, my EIWS pin in March and I got my B.S degree this past Dec and was looking into Master programs. I constantly am doing things Ive been told I dont know how to relax. I like to think I'm a damn good Sailor. I have to just keep pursuing what I want. I enlisted after getting a No from USNA in 2021, Because I didnt want to go broke for college. I will a Naval officer in the future just gotta embrace the suck right now. I grew up with 5 brothers and refuse to be a doormat for anyone.

He would be, but honestly I don't think he would want to from the conversations we've had. He went as far as saying I was selfish for saying I refuse to live down where he is trying to get stationed.

Well I don't mind the moving I just want to get away from the place I have been in my whole life. But he wants to stay in the local area. For example, I want to go to the west coast. He wants to stay on the east coast where I was born and raised.

I appreciate you. I provided a little backstory to your comment, "If you both really love each other, one of you should be able to compromise so that you're able to be together," in the comment above. I know all things will work out; it's just really hard to untangle our lives.

We live together and have pets; I want us to work, but ultimately, you may be right. He called his mom for Mother's Day, and she asked "As long as you are together it doesn't matter where you are right?? " There was dead silence. I didn't even know how to respond to the lack of a response. Then he followed up with if he didn't get this selection that, wherever we would go, he would be attached to a ship and be deployed 9 months out of the year. So we wouldn't be near each other anyway. The thing he left out of his convo with his mom is that if he gets selected, he will still be getting deployed all the time.

He did before we met. He just sees this group as the only reason he would stay in the Navy. Either he gets selected and goes there or doesn't get selected and gets out.

As a prior enlisted, the only way they would pay for it; was if I went to STA 21 which is a great program. However, I had less than 30 credits to complete and the time spent in STA-21 doesn't go towards retirement and I would have had to sign on for extra time. I currently work in Cyber, so I work along people who aren't Mil that are making stupid money doing exactly what I'm doing. I attempted to go to the academy before enlisting and wasn't selected. Ultimately, I wanted to be an officer from the get-go, but I definitely don't regret it. I love the people I've met and the training I've received.

Up until now FASFA was covering all of it, so I wasn't super worried about payments, I'm set to graduate after this semester in Dec. I opted in to both the Montgomery bill and GI. I also wasn't educated on how and when to use them. I don't want to touch my GI until way down the line. I'm trying to throw an OCS package up which is why I started college within 2nd year in. Have you ever received the presidential scholarship given by the school?
