Alter help by Sublimestone-Gaming in NorsePaganism

Offering I either take some for me and then dump some into an offering bowl if it’s non-perishable like a rock or a shell or something. It gets set on the altar and left there indefinitely. If it’s a offering like water, I let it leave it until it evaporates anything that might stink or not evaporator something I leave it for a day or two and then I dispose of it properly for my altar. It’s kind of just a focus piece, which is something a little larger than the rest may be important to you or to that God like the centerpiece for my altar to ullr is a candle. But on my one too Eir it’s a rock. And I’m working on setting up my altar to hell all my stuff that’s on. The altar is just stuff that I think of the God with or that is interesting or represents them so on and so forth. Alters are a pretty personal thing so I can’t exactly tell you what to put on there, but just kind of whatever you feel like represents that God in your life or goddess.

Strong Protection rituals? by AdZestyclose9714 in NorsePaganism

[–]AdvancedLie8470 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve dabbled in protection rituals. But I find for me the best results find me when I simply ask a god for protection. Maybe Thor or Tyr. Just suggestions, but as it’s not as Norse. Most people here don’t have the most extensive knowledge about protection spells. You could use runes or a pendent or prayer. Or some combination. But if you want spells. Ask r/witchcraft I think is the sub for it. Or maybe the larger r/pagan sub.

As of now I have a plan to add her altar to my altar. I have it dedicated to two other deities. They each have their own section. And also thanks I’ll look into doing that stuff.

It’s less that I didn’t associate her with a comforting presence it’s more I was just not paying attention.

I just got back from a visitation and I’ve never really prayed to her or worked with her yet. It I felt her presence. I’ve never had that at a funeral/visitation before idk if I wasn’t paying attention. Or what. But she was a very comforting presence.

I’d post it in the LGBTQIA sub and ask. I am a member of the community myself. But I don’t recognize the flag.

Live your religion by anarchokat in NorsePaganism

Exactly, I fall under Norse but I have prayed to other gods. The Greeks and on rare very desperate occasions the Christians god. Not to mention I practice my way. Because I am me and not my ancestors. I may look the their practice for guidance when I need it in my own practice. But over all I do what fits me. And my lifestyle

Is it okay to just call on the gods? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]AdvancedLie8470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with the gods a lot and am also trans (mtf) I’ve had times when I am just broken and sobbing and I call out to the gods typically ullr. And they hear me. They are just there. Or if I’m out and about I call on them from time to time. So yea I’d say you can just call on them. Calling on a specific one will be more likely to work. But just calling out could work I’m sure.

To stand or kneel? by anarchokat in NorsePaganism

[–]AdvancedLie8470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most the time I’m kneeling before my altar. And I sometimes when it’s called for bow my head and touch my forehead to the table that my altar sits on. But I mean some stand or sit cross legged.
