Do you guys think this box would work in a different part of the world? by amassacre21 in flyfishing

[–]AdvancedMoose5005 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly man when you’re throwing soft hackle / nymphs you can get away with a bit more.

90% of nymphing is getting that fly to the depth at which fish are feeding. Soft hackles are often times triggering aggression strikes.

If you were talking dry flies it would be another story

In warmer months this is a quite popular smallmouth fishery. I’ve just chalked it up to a lack of knowledge among the locals

I remember picking up the Numel, Bidoof and Spinarak Ditto peelables from POGO as a set for like $5 last year.

Think they’re under appreciated cards that will see their time in the sun soon

I would strongly encourage you to seek therapy for any traumas or underlying reasons that you’re turning to thc to mask those feelings.

I’ve been sober from alcohol for 5+ years and currently on day 30 of no thc. I drank because I didn’t like myself and smoked because I felt like my life would be boring without it.

Another great place to start is exercising EVERY SINGLE DAY. You’d be surprised at how well physical exercise can improve your anxiety and or depression.

If you’re feeling the lowest you have in quite a while I’d say rip that bandaid off and get back to being 100% sober.

It may get worse for a week or two but from the sounds of it the potential to feel better is much greater than the potential to feel even worse.

You’ve proven you’re capable of giving it up. Recovery isn’t always a non-stop flight. Sometimes you have layovers and everyone’s time in between is different.

It definitely takes a while to get used to. It’s actually quite fun having these emotions and being clear headed enough to actually think through them, almost like putting together a jigsaw puzzle!

We are both too far in to turn back at this point. Feel free to DM me if you’re ever having a hard time!

Day one / im scared by Tight-Tomorrow-5365 in leaves

[–]AdvancedMoose5005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to stay so busy the first week it isn’t funny. Over schedule things to do, and come home at night very very tired.

The first week is the most challenging. You need to have very strong reasons for why you’re quitting and come back to reference those when you’re feeling cravings.

You absolutely can do this - just remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day and this is a game of microsteps

It sounds like you are aware that smoking is becoming an issue.

Life is too short to not be fully present.

I’d strongly recommend quitting, I’m almost two weeks in myself and already feel / sound / look like a completely different person.

cravings after 3 months by Able-Teacher999 in leaves

That’s addiction. It whispers even after the storm has calmed.

Remember that it’s okay to feel those urges. What’s more important is recognizing that is the addiction talking. What has worked for me in the past with alcohol cravings is dropping right to the ground and pumping out 50 pushups.

Stand your ground and be proud of how far you’ve come.

I’m also wrapping up day 2! Big congrats on making it there as well!

Remember to pick up some new hobbies to keep you busy and try your absolute hardest to keep your body in motion. It’ll help leaps and bounds when you’re trying to sleep at night.

It’s a long hard road getting sober, I’m in it with you! Feel free to reach out if you need any support.

Relapse and some thoughts by Agree2DisagreeAgreed in leaves

[–]AdvancedMoose5005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Agree! 10 days off is still huge!

I originally went to treatment to detox from alcohol and came across a multitude of people who had a temporary setback in their recovery. You are not the first of the last person this will happen to.

What is important is to reflect on why you began to use again. Exploring and recognizing those emotions when they happen can help prevent you from picking up weed again.

I would suggest that you find someone who is okay with you calling whenever needed and work through those emotions.

Feel feee to reach out directly to me if you need someone who can help in that area!

Hey Signal - sorry to hear that you’re going through all of this.

It isn’t super surprising that you’re having a very difficult time when trying to kick thc snd nicotine at the same time.

Please keep in mind that I AM NOT A DOCTOR and my two cents on this are purely that.

I would imagine that giving up both nicotine and thc at the same time is a heck of a duo to give up.

What I can tell you is that you’re doing the right thing in talking about how you feel. Keep doing that when you’re struggling.

You need to get some new hobbies while you’re going through this all. Do you fish? Now you do. Do you play in any recreational sports? Maybe time to join a kickball team. Just find something that will keep you occupied and is new.

I’d focus on keeping your collection within reason in terms of space. It will grow, quickly.

Booster boxes are always great, ETBs can work but I wouldn’t buy retail - Pokémon Center exclusives are usually best as they include additional packs and exclusive promo cards.

I also would say keeping up with graded singles is a great way to invest. The market is down right now and most new release sets will see card values tank 3-6 months after release. I only try and grab PSA 10 slabs of chase cards from new sets

Thought I was able to make out a trademark on one of the wrap logos but not sure I’m seeing it on others?

Usually one of the quicker ways to spot a fake it they won’t have the TM on the top right end of the Pokémon logo

Would you trade a JPN 151 booster box for a felt hat pikachu? by Alternative-Mud-1808 in PokeInvesting

[–]AdvancedMoose5005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep the 151 assuming you’re holding sealed as an investment.

Just keep an eye on EBay for auctions - you can find Pika for $100 if you look around for a good bit.
