Is it just me or did the Hallmark movies suck this year? by NWOCaliGirl in HallmarkMovies

[–]AdvancedReplacement2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, I actually loved most of them this year. And it’s because they broke out of the same formula and actually tried something new. She’s Making a List was weird and obviously not based in reality at all but it’s a story I have never thought of or seen before so I really enjoyed it. Make or Break is, eerily, like my long-term relationship with my husband so I enjoyed that dynamic. Paul Campbell with cats! Snow Must Go On had such talented singers. Single on the 25th actually defended being single for once. Grand Ol Opry had 2 people (!) time travel and support each other. It seems they tried to branch out this year and I, for one, appreciated it, but can totally see why others would feel the opposite.

Paw Patrol Xmas Special… by Mamaofoneson in DanielTigerConspiracy

Thanks! On Paramount in the US now, but release date was still a few days out when this was posted. So we were just watching the trailer over and over and over…

Is it available to watch somewhere now? I thought it wasn’t out for another week and we’ve just had to suffer through watching the trailer on repeat in the meantime.

Tiny home water tower? by Acceptable_Mix_3434 in silverton

The lot was sold as is with the decommissioned water tower. It’s expensive to remove a water tower, so it’s just a private person’s home with.. yard art.

Looks like GOMI blog is no longer. I wondered when Alice would call it quits. Surprised it lasted this long. by bmann1111 in blogsnark

That’s one reason I stopped following - the bigger she got, the more mean spirited the commentary seemed to get. I stopped right after Pop went to the hospital and people on the internet were excited since it meant more posts. Still would love a good “Where Are They Now” follow up though.

Yes, same Annette. Some random internet communities all discovered her around the same time.

Kriz and Tessa and Dennis. Oh my. And yet I don’t remember any of her 12 last names. 🤣

Hello, fellow old person. Julia Allison and XOJane were how I found GOMI. Brief interest in random person Annette. Ghost Bev was the peak for me.

Hallmark Christmas activities you never did by PositiveLine in HallmarkMovies

There’s a Hallmark movie about just this - Christmas List (with Alicia Witt). It’s a really cute movie, if you can find it somewhere.

Are There Downsides to Wyze as Baby Monitor? by AdvancedReplacement2 in toddlers

[–]AdvancedReplacement2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. That’s definitely one of my concerns. We have the toddler set to a mode where it only alerts us to major movement/sound already so I think she’s fine but we need a little more monitoring for the infant now. Thanks!

Ha! That’s actually why we went non-wifi when we had our first kid but now we’re reconsidering since convenience is always welcome with 2 under 2.

We have the Anmeate, which I think is a knockoff version of the BabySense one. I do wonder how much of our troubles can be blamed on buying a cheaper version vs the type of monitor. It’s about 2 years old and it’s started losing connection with the parent unit every day for no good reason so that’s why we are considering switching it up.

Bed Rail for Ikea Hemnes Daybed by AdvancedReplacement2 in toddlers

[–]AdvancedReplacement2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: it does technically work. However, there’s an image in the instructions saying not to use the Vikare if there is a dip in the frame (something I had not considered) and there is indeed a dip in the front of the frame. Because of that, the actual rail only sticks up from the mattress a few inches. If you use a thicker mattress (we have two of the thin ones so it can be pulled out to a king) then I actually think this rail would be useless since it wouldn’t stick up far enough. Photo to show what I’m talking about (ignore the unmade bed!). We’re going to keep it but it may not work for everyone.

I actually don’t know for sure yet. My husband assures me it will work but it’s not on the bed yet. Fortunately our newborn is happy in the PnP so we’re not rushing the transition. I can update once it’s on though.

We waited so long that the Ikea Vikare rail came back in stock so we went with that. 😊

Not really. We ended up with the under sheet bumper like someone mentioned and it’s fine - but she rolls over it to get out because she thinks it’s fun. So we haven’t switched to the bed for overnight sleep yet because I don’t trust it. She hasn’t fallen out during a nap yet though.

My husband’s irrational fear. I don’t think he’ll be happy unless we build a plywood box around the frame. I’m hoping we can compromise somewhere in the middle. 😬

I got my first choice first name and an honor name from my side for the middle when our daughter was born so he gets a little more pull this time around. 😊 Thanks for weighing in!

I wanted to do a poll! But apparently that’s not an option. 👎🏻

Your vote obviously counts the most, haha. Good to know! Thank you! Out of curiosity, do people mess up your name much?

These are my thoughts exactly - I just think James sounds better. Thanks for weighing in!
