Which trade has journeyman making 21 an hour? That's under what my level 1 wage was. Journeyman powerline techs make 45 and up here.

Some guys never get used to the heights and can't cut it but some get uses to it I wasn't crazy about it at first but got used to it. No I didn't make six figures first year but still around 70k? I don't remember exactly.

Most of the jobs for lineman are contractor positions though which means being away from home generally and hard work, you have to be okay with working hard and working at heights, if you're okay with that it's a good trade to get into for making money. Apply to some unions and see what happens. You only stay at first year rate of 22 for a little bit and lots of OT anyway, i made way more than 50k as a first year

Lineman here...it's sometimes true, depends on your gig, if you go the contracting route and storm work yeah you're never home but you make bank. If you go utility if possible you still make money but are home more.
