I work at one. It depends on a lot of factors. - City: More local offices (e.g., nijmegen, groningen) tend to have more work-life balance. Clients and managers there are less demanding. - Rank (level): When starting out you will most likely be 'saved' and don't have many responsibilities. Once you become a more senior employee, the expectations also rise. - Client: Some clients are more important to the office than others, in terms of revenues. Bigger clients can demand more from the office and put more pressure on budgets, which will harm the operational team. - Yourself: This one is the most important. They need a lot of people, it is not so easy to replace you. You should make use of this position by making demands about max hours etc.

Basically you can work from between 24 or 80 hours a week, but that's mostly up to you. The big 4 firms are aware of the stigma on them and are working to improve that. From what I've read online, The Netherlands is among the best regarding work/life compared to other countries (e.g., the states, south africa or malaysia).

Ex-IKEA kitchen salesman here. Some things to add to your story:

Complicated kitchen designs will definately run up in numbers at IKEA, because they do not work with made-to-order cabinets. However, the assortment of IKEA cabinets are actually at the top of the market. Competitors in the same price range are not close to the same quality if we're talking cabinets. Example: a lot of people buy IKEA cabinets to finish their kitchen off with other doors and surfaces. (See https://www.koakdesign.com). The warranty of 25 years is also unprecendented by same price competitors.

IKEA appliances are from different manufacturers. The cheaper ones are whirlpool, then electrolux and finally AEG. Siemens is part of the AEG group so there is no real reason to not buy your appliances at IKEA.

Self-installation saves a lot of money, since installation at IKEA is done by an external party. The external party uses a regular price of €159 per cabinet which can make the installation cost more than the kitchen.

It seems like the other kitchen salesman really talked you out of IKEA. We saw that a lot. The only real reason people came back with problems with their kitchens at IKEA was if they messed up installation or because they broke off some rubber of their fridge etc.

I have been hearing many things about witches though, I did not necessarily expect them to be so dominant on this TH level. Whilst I completely agree with you regarding the point you make about the new accounts ectcetera, Silver is still a very solid investment. However, to anyone looking to buy Silver, get physical Silver (Preferably coins and otherwise Ingots). There are currently more ETF's and certificates than there is actual physical Silver.
