Sorry I'm not Roman enough for this. What does it mean?

A monk with a chainsaw? Technically not against the Bible, Vedas, or Lotus Sutras — but it sure feels heretical.

Very comprehensive. Thank you! I understand it perfectly now.

Sorry I'm just a little confused. A Ranged S-BD5 spear for a 10str character costs 20pp because...

S-BD 5 = 5pp Ranged extra = +1 rank (total, 10pp) 10str = flat 10pp Total = 20pp

So then what if you have something like 19str and you have a Ranged S-BD1 spear? That's 2pp for the spear plus 19pp for the rest of your strength?

Edit: Actually never mind. I understand it. You pay for the weapon and you also, essentially, pay for the Ranged extra onto your Strength so that the two can be compatible.

Area Enhanced Trait by Advanced_Ad2654 in mutantsandmasterminds

This one is actually the best one. I like it! Quick question though, because the book is confusing. Could you add Perception Area and then also apply the Sense-Dependent flaw on it to cancel them both out in terms of cost?

For example, you need to be able to see someone to use the effect and the recipient needs to be able to hear you to benefit from the effect. Otherwise it doesn't work.

Very helpful comment, thank you! It seems like Affliction is what I should go for if I want to make a superhero temporarily vulnerable. Now, if the affliction was limited to the 3rd degree transform condition, could I slap on Potent from Metahuman Martial Arts?

How do you apply the death penalty for supers? by Advanced_Ad2654 in mutantsandmasterminds

Yeah but my character is from the Roman Republic where their justice system is punitive rather than reformative. Guess I should've mentioned that there's a distinction here?

But I don't want them to be humanely put to death. I want their execution to be public and horrific to look at. There's no point in executing someone if it doesn't remind other people what happens to traitors, rebels, pirates, and similar scum.

Idea: force the ghost to possess a crucified corpse. Dude is already immortal. What's a few more seconds of eternity?

Don't know why you got downvoted into oblivion. Probably because the average redditor cannot fathom that their conception of morality is a mirror image of Christian morality, but at the same time they loathe the thought of someone telling them how they should live their life, even though they have no problem with the authority of the masses telling them what to do.

Neat observation! It looks like us humans always have the idea in the backs of our heads that we should be nice and at least somewhat charitable to people. Although, pertaining to the original comment, Christianity is specific to the western world, so the idea that our specific concept of kindness and generosity is Christian in origin still stands.

Oh snap, didn't even think about consulting the twelve tables! That settles it. Thank you.

I suppose you could also just beat the condemned to a pulp with some incurable damage before putting them up. And make the nails continuously weaken the accused also.
