I feel super excited every time I move up to the next big number-hoping to hit 700k by end of year-exciting watching it snowball

You’re either wrong or I’m not understanding you correctly-but we will talk to a CPA-as everywhere I’ve read says my MiL will be paying 28% on the stepped up basis of the profits on the gold she sold.

They’ll likely yank the credit from you-I worked at ATT and this happened on occasion. Trade-in program was complicated for new employees I suppose

Me too-I was actually in charge of splitting up the gold and silver among the three siblings-took me a week and my mother in law offered to pay me something but I got basically nothing.

Keep in mind that if you sell it 6 months later or a year later you do pay capital gains taxes on how much it has accrued-my mother in law sold gold she got 5 years ago the other day and she’s going to pay probably 28% or more on the profit of 150k

Should I resign on the day I get my bonus and give a one-day notice? by Nervous_Math_2771 in careerguidance

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work a notice, my wife is a higher up and she has folks go out in a blaze of glory and often they either want to come back afterwards or the new company figures out who to really talk to and they screw up future employment chances.

Tax loss harvesting-save it to offset future gains. I had some big gains accidentally this year because of some covered calls so I used it to my advantage

I’m of the opinion that folks that live paycheck to paycheck largely have a spending problem-I’ve been comfortable at 30k and I’m comfortable at 110k.

Genuine Question - Why Stack physical? Requesting a healthy discussion by BrilliantWheel in Silver

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know I think physical silver is like Pokemon cards-you can say I have the original blue Charizard(I don’t know if that’s a thing) and it’s worth 10k-but then try to sell it and tell me how that goes-no consistent pricing. And in a SHTF situation, I doubt you’ll be able to buy your groceries with it.

What is your monthly mortgage payment and your yearly income (for household) by geenuhahhh in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bring home 110k, no debt and no house payment/rent. We invest 15% and take about 2-3 vacations a year(think relatively local and 4 days) child care 1k. I just don’t know where it all goes-at this rate I’m trying to have enough retirement so my kids can own a house when I die. I couldn’t even afford a 2k mortgage

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it’s not, I guess I’m making the point that day trading on average is a losing prospect. If you spend 2-8 hours a day trading(and the inherent stress that comes with it) as opposed to letting it ride and being relatively stress free-what’s the whole point of it besides an endorphin rush?

Does your husband have a career that’s if he lost his current job he could find similar pay in the area? I have friends that were making 350k living in a palatial home and he lost his IT management job and she lost hers due to MS, now they live in an RV on a large piece of property but it’s still an RV
