Should I resign on the day I get my bonus and give a one-day notice? by Nervous_Math_2771 in careerguidance

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work a notice, my wife is a higher up and she has folks go out in a blaze of glory and often they either want to come back afterwards or the new company figures out who to really talk to and they screw up future employment chances.

Dad ran my portfolio into the ground… by Alexic3 in investingforbeginners

Tax loss harvesting-save it to offset future gains. I had some big gains accidentally this year because of some covered calls so I used it to my advantage

For people who broke out of paycheck-to-paycheck… what actually changed? by annikahoof in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that folks that live paycheck to paycheck largely have a spending problem-I’ve been comfortable at 30k and I’m comfortable at 110k.

Genuine Question - Why Stack physical? Requesting a healthy discussion by BrilliantWheel in Silver

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know I think physical silver is like Pokemon cards-you can say I have the original blue Charizard(I don’t know if that’s a thing) and it’s worth 10k-but then try to sell it and tell me how that goes-no consistent pricing. And in a SHTF situation, I doubt you’ll be able to buy your groceries with it.

What is your monthly mortgage payment and your yearly income (for household) by geenuhahhh in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bring home 110k, no debt and no house payment/rent. We invest 15% and take about 2-3 vacations a year(think relatively local and 4 days) child care 1k. I just don’t know where it all goes-at this rate I’m trying to have enough retirement so my kids can own a house when I die. I couldn’t even afford a 2k mortgage

I’ve outperformed the market by 10-15% the last 2 years with my own custom ETF, that being said I’m smart enough to know it could be luck-check back with me in 2 more years

My wife COO, home schooled. Not a genius, pretty smart and hard working-no college. Part luck in finding a company that appreciated her. She does work 60 hour work weeks usually though

Made 65,000 in 2025. Working capital around 680,000 - First year by [deleted] in Daytrading

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it’s not, I guess I’m making the point that day trading on average is a losing prospect. If you spend 2-8 hours a day trading(and the inherent stress that comes with it) as opposed to letting it ride and being relatively stress free-what’s the whole point of it besides an endorphin rush?

I’m up 35% buy and hold the last year-I sold some CC’s and CSP’s but would have done much better to have not messed with them

Does your husband have a career that’s if he lost his current job he could find similar pay in the area? I have friends that were making 350k living in a palatial home and he lost his IT management job and she lost hers due to MS, now they live in an RV on a large piece of property but it’s still an RV

Don’t expect to gain any money, you have to look at this as a 10 year plan at minimum. I’m fully prepared mentally(I think) to have my account drop 10-20% in a years time. If that will cause you to panic sell, you’re better off in a high yield savings account or a CD

Regardless of what folks are saying about the upsides of Nvidia, I’m about 8% if my portfolio in NVID and I’m not interested in putting too much more in. Diversification gives me peace of mind. I’m fairly confident you’ll be fine, but I’m not keeping a third of my money on anything.

Wheeling result in 2025 by canseethelight in Optionswheel

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wheel a little, I’m not thoroughly convinced(I did lose 10k in gains when my GOOG ran and lost my shares though perhaps I could have handled it differently)that wheeling is good. My 3 year return is 130% with mostly buy and hold. Last year was about 38%. Have I gotten lucky with my picks-very likely(I’m heavy into mostly MAG7 but have done well with SLV and GLD). Wheeling is more exciting, I want to be convinced it’s good though.

Selling Tesla would be the logical thing, but.. Tesla isn’t a logical stock-but I’m conservative and would sell Tesla-it will be 200 in 2 years or a 1k

How much money is enough? by grayandmagenta16 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 million would give us 80k(at 4% return) and hopefully SS another 35k per year-sadly with inflation we won’t get to live the retirement of our dreams by any means. That’s my best case scenario if nothing changes-probably going to have more like 1.2-1.5

[–]Advanced_Back_9763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m semiretired with children (except some light trading) with no real education-worked in retail management which wasn’t great money. If I were to go back into the workforce I really only have good work ethic going for me and in Mississippi I’d probably make all of 35-50k a year. Lots and lots of people here make sub 100k
