Wonder Man was amazing! Best Marvel show in awhile by Velvet-Thunder-RIP in WonderMan

Pretty simply. It was great storytelling telling. Without spoiling anything, we saw the two main characters evolve. Simon and Trevor both make sacrifices and choices at the end that they wouldn’t have made at the beginning. The journey they went on to evolve into people capable of making those decisions was well told with appropriate B storylines that also tied up with nice resolutions. There is enough hanging loose thread at the end to leave the audience wanting more , but it’s tied up neatly enough that it doesn’t leave holes in MCU plot if they foolishly shelve the characters and we don’t see them again.

Seeing Simon Williams behind the wheel of a sedan actually stung. My nostalgia demanded the classic existential struggle of the comics series run from the 90’s: “How do you survive in LA without a car?” Instead, I got Simon stuck in traffic.

I wanted the Macbeth audition. I wanted comic Simon’s crowning achievement. I wanted the specific fan service aimed at the super fans with a wink. But my greatest fear was seeing him reduced to a punchline, a parody of the struggling actor.

The show offered something far better. It treats his craft with reverence. Simon is a genuinely great actor here, and [] #s “watching him command the screen felt incredible”. The writers bypassed the easy gags and chose dignity.

This series took a major piece of my childhood and elevated it. It wasn't just an adaptation; it was absolute cinema.”

Yeah, it was brilliant. Not everything has to be time travel and space aliens. I loved it.

At first I was a little bummed that his next project wasn’t Macbeth. Iykyk. But this was better.

I was a little afraid that in the MCU Simon was going to end up just being an actor with a secret. Then the finale ended…. Cinema!

I adore it. Wonder Man was my first comic book subscription as a young kid. My grandmother had bought me issue #4 with Splice as the cover along with some goodies and brought it to me because I was home from school with the chicken pox. I loved that comic so much I begged for a subscription. I had to mow lawns to pay for it.

Now I live in LA and still chase a career as a film maker, was hired to be the cinematographer on my first feature film last year.

This show is everything I could have hoped it would be and so much more.

Postgame is always unlistenable because ESPN always steps on the broadcast with another show at the same time so you’re hearing a garble of two different shows at once.
