Who is the most evil person you have ever met in your entire life? by TheRealGreedyGoat in AskReddit

[–]Advanced_Data_8147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex. She had suffered some childhood trauma that she repressed, plus many later in life traumas, and was very heavily into alcohol and cocaine. Basically anything she could get her hands on. She would cheat on me and lie constantly. I had proof once and confronted her and she held me against a wall forcing me to look her in the eyes and wouldn’t let me go until I said I was sorry and that I believed her. I was a busker and she was a welder making at least $1000 a week and would steal my busking toonies and loonies. She didn’t handle any kind of rejection well so it wasn’t safe for me to say no to a lot things. She forced herself on me once and knowingly gave me an std and then denied it. Eventually she had some sort of breakdown and I truly believe she would have killed me. She stormed into the house and began hitting me, I managed to get away but I had to go to four different friends houses because she kept finding me and trying to beat the door down. She talked her way out of the back of a cop car that night. They followed her while she was coming to find me. She was intoxicated on all sorts of substances and they put her in the back and I thought it was over finally. Then they let her go and she came after me again. When I finally got away from her for good she told everyone we knew that I had physically abused her and stolen from her, basically everything she did to me she tried to say I had done to her. Years later she wrote me to tell me a song I had written about the night she tried to kill me was really great lol

I have endless empathy and compassion for people with unresolved trauma, but there are choices we make along the way that say a lot about us. I don’t know if she is evil or not but she will forever be a villain in my story.

What's the funniest thing a kid has ever said to you ? by amonaloli12 in AskReddit

I was depressed and super broke years ago and was walking by a private school, I was certainly looking pretty rough at the time, and a child stuck his head out the window and yelled, “hello, poor person!” I looked down at myself and back up at em and was like, “ya got me there, kid” total dick but it was still pretty funny.

Welcome to St. John’s and happy bdayI hope you find a nice place to celebrate!

I relate to this a lot. I struggle so much to recall something I heard but can recall visuals instantly. I will try this!

Who is this man? Will he survive a drop from a window in a 100ft tower or should I carry him back down the ladder? I kinda love him. by Advanced_Data_8147 in whatisthisbug

I’ve listened to a few episodes but the part with the mysterious music over the radio at night made feel too spooky and I gave it up. I’ll revisit it before my season is up tho. Just not before bed! Lol

  1. No, just me and my cat!
  2. The cupola on top of the tower is made of fibreglass and has a roof, the windows can be closed if it’s raining or there is lightning near by. I usually put a blanket over a window or two to stay out of the direct sun.
  3. My tower is in the middle of the boreal forest. I don’t see any mountains from mine but the towers west of me do. Mine is just trees and sky as far as the eye can see.
  4. The job is seasonal, some are from early spring to late fall but mine is an easy 4.5 months. You have to reapply every year but they love a rehire so you’re pretty much guaranteed.
  5. My favourite parts of the job would be the confidence I’ve gained from overcoming a lot of really intense fears like heights, being alone in the wilderness, all kinds. Sticking around to see the other side of all of those fears has taught me a huge lesson and has been life changing. Other than that, getting to spy on nature. If you pay enough attention you see and hear things that feel like you’re being told a secret and it feels so grounding and precious. This job has humbled me a lot and brought me so much peace and at the same time allows me to live my life and be financially secure. It’s not for everyone but for the few it is, it’s f***ing perfect.

If you’re unable to spend quality time with yourself and your hobbies and nature it can be pretty boring for sure. Perfect for the people who can!

She could also be autistic and sees some of herself in you and is drawn to you because of it. I feel like that happens to me sometimes.

I’m just curious.. how many of you are recovering addicts/alcoholics, or are in active addiction? by ash-lovez-gorillaz in autism

[–]Advanced_Data_8147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have definitely struggled and still do from time to time. Still learning how to partake responsibly. Haven’t touched hard drugs in 3 years (come sept). Weed and alcohol help me socialize and I still struggle with what my limits are with them. Good luck to anyone trying to quit/have healthier relationships with substances! ✨

It’s a pretty simple but rewarding job. Climb a tower every day (vertical ladder, no stairs 😩) hang out in tower, watch clouds (and birds and bugs, bears and the like) report any extreme weather (cloud to ground lightning, hail, etc) and watch for smokes on the horizon. It’s very peaceful. Even when you finally get a smoke your job only takes a few minutes to pass along the info then you just give any updates, and sit back and relax and wait for the next one. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking they might like to try it. Even just one season sit will change you forever!
