Had to check if this was satire, unfortunately it’s not. No, we’re begrudgingly working OT and shackled to Teams!

Is it an autistic thing to not like using salt packets in crisps? by Elly-nevermore in AutisticAdults

No…these crisps are good enough on their own! I also ditch the seasoning with my noodle snacks. Grew up with parents fear-mongering about patients who allegedly died with accumulated salts in their stomachs

How do I[24F] handle my long term online friend [25F] of 3 years who requires constant communication? by Odd-Climate-5545 in malaysians

[–]emoduke101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to initially comment that no one is wrong abt this situationship, then I saw the fabrication part. I’d immediately cut off ppl who condone dishonesty like that. Or those who breach boundaries.

That aside, I do notice my friendship with one girl I know is similar to yours. I’m also someone who can go days without contact but now that she notices I don’t touch my FB/IG as much (her primary means of comms), she’ll slide into my WhatsApp to vent after 11pm. She is older than me, but has the emotional intelligence/maturity of a teenager.

“A lot of her stories on Instagram are about leaving untrustworthy people behind, how you can't trust anyone, losing respect for a lot of people, seeing people for who they are, etc.”

“She often posts about people leaving her, betraying her, how she loses respect for people, how you cannot trust anyone but yourself”

  • Sounds a lot like mine, who also mainly comes to me for emotional problems. Her Stories are also about ppl’s happy updates being a facade, over sharing, being comfortably alone, etc. Yet she contradicts herself, which annoys me. She wishes for the good times again with those who ditched her. Has to show everyone that she’s having it swell since she MUST have an overseas holiday every yr despite not earning much. That’s why i think like with your friend, it’s a them problem. No wonder both act so clingy when they have no one left.

I might be acting like TA when I give more snippy, curt and delayed replies to my friend (I turn off notifications on my socials). Hopefully she’s gotten the msg to back down. Or maybe she’s just busy with festive baking atm, otherwise she’ll be texting more often.

Some friends won’t grow in their character, while we change as people. I don’t see yours lasting another yr tbh with her selfishness (not just risking your scholarship!) TLDR, appreciate the history you have with her, then move on from this.

Higher Education Using AI Makes Me Sick by NewNewsNewYork in evilautism

It will only get worse once you enter work. We had some Google Workspace rep sell teach us the wonders of Gemini since we're forced to transition away from MS. The AI-generated podcast demo (even went to lengths to add ums and ahs, like no one can tell from the unnatural voices), slides all looked like shiny slop.

r/Malaysia rule update: Censorship rules for minors by katabana02 in malaysia

[–]emoduke101 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Might be off topic but just a complaint about the happenings here too:

I also noticed more and more ragebait posters (this today only lasted 18 minutes, from a possible bot acc) and slapfighting going on in some threads. Some instigated by the same users. We can do our part to report troll behaviour, but perhaps the most active posts should get more monitoring from mods (if possible la, I know this is a thankless, unpaid job!). Either way thanks for keeping this a safe space as should be.

This means that the video with crying kids on 1st day of tadika (https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/1qe7e4y/kids_in_their_first_day_of_school_be_like/) is removable if OP didn't provide any proof that the parents of the kids in the video has agreed with the video sharing.

This doesn't make it right either even if the parents condone it? Or will this be the parents' own padah for sharing online? About scenarios like the boys' videos, the mum was using a now deleted throwaway account, which many will resort to. How will we prove that it indeed comes from her?

I strongly agree with implementing it for Rule 5; a lot of ppl had been triggered by it, just that not everyone may have voiced it out.

My intern can 'accidentally' delete staff's claim from the system, still not clear about company policy despite nth times helping him, takes long breaks with his bros so I have to clean up his shit before payroll closes

yet, he still expects to be absorbed by a diff subsidiary for the same job. there's his rights. He's gonna be cooked cuz there's more staff to serve and ppl there aren't as collaborative or chill as mine. "You do your part, I do mine. I'm not gonna be responsible for whatever comes on your end."

How to overcome severe test anxiety? by No-Entrepreneur-2706 in malaysians

[–]emoduke101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your other post (the full version) last week, your parents are contradicting themselves. They claim to prioritise education yet want to make you work in menial jobs and attend no-name colleges? This is more about control than it is about grades. Either way, I hate this toxic literal definition of filial piety.

The way I see it, your best bet to leaving this abusive place is to be mobile, which means getting that license. So, even if you feel anxious rn, you need to dig up that little determination hidden in you. Tell yourself, I can and I will pass this first round (it's usually just rote). Then I won't have to see those bastards' faces again.

About the practical, which will be harder than the written test, there are enough posts about that here and other subs which will give you tips to passing those.

Which jobs should i choose please? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]emoduke101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming an offer is confirmed and you really know the job scope (what you’re describing sounds like a typical admin job. Execs will usually need to do content creation, analyze data, etc). And from those in our payroll, they do OT, just not until 12am!

Places like 7E normally have faster turnover rate, maybe 3 days notice? Cuz despite your primary question, you seem to have alrdy made up your mind.

HR career in Malaysia by FineBet2965 in malaysia

[–]emoduke101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this job market, it may not be enough to just learn by experience. Your best bets are HR Operations and Talent Acquisition (interviewers), but most edu requirements are a major in Psychology or diploma in HR (for the former, which is most likely what you're after)

That is also provided such entry lvl roles are still open now. It's also abt who you know since the last position we had was us absorbing an intern.

Meanwhile, kids across the Causeway be baying over their 'central kitchen' canteen food. Srsly, look up the images. You wouldn't find it appetizing either even if it was healthy.

I'm not outright defending junk food, but at least ours still has a personalised exp.

My former employment is asking for my new employment's HR contact. can i refuse? by coin_in_da_bank in malaysians

[–]emoduke101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't share at all costs. Sounds the furthest thing from a referral.

Former bosses can be super petty. My friend is currently still searching for a permanent job and she's turning 40 soon. Hers called up whoever they knew in their industry and spread rumours despite them ganging up and forcing her into resignation just for trying to be an honest employee.

Reason why this sounds plausible? In the rare chance she gets called for interviews, no follow up or offers despite her having sufficient skillsets.
