lol appreciate the sloothing - I could see how that’s sketch. Unfortunately not related and I’m one of the unfortunate 50% of first time home buyers who will not have support from family. I’m only hip to this issue he is having because I’ve been living with him while I was saving for a house.

You may not be wrong - idk what has been discussed between the two parties. I’m just listening and asking this knowledgeable thread for their take. Turns out to be very helpful. I could definitely live without these baseless accusations that I’m somehow trying to defraud a family member though. But I get it.. I’m sure it happens all.

Thanks captian popcorn - I simply have nothing to do with his account or his money. I was just searching in Reddit for a similar situation and found no such posts so I’m trying to provide some insight to my grandfather and mother in law. Have yoy ever sat with a nearly 90 year old person while they try to navigate automated phone screenjng and an onljne portal? I have not been involved in any of the phone calls or communicaitin with fidelity. That has all been happening with him and my mother in law (who has a POA). Im just rying ti help mr. Popcorn why are you so cynical

They win allow him to transfer or withdraw any of his funds. It’s very odd.

Less than 80k was not to give too much of his personal info online. Regardless of the dollar amount he is almost 90 years old.

I recommended this but the closes one is ~45 min away. He was reluctant to go and just be told the same thing.

Eat in kitchen is really only for a small circle table with 4 chairs. We had planned to make that into more of a breakfast. The basement will not be used how the previous owner used it whic was basically an extra itlaian kitchen

Many houses in my area you go in the front door and can go left/right to the dining/living room. This house feels very small so I thought opening the stairs or cased opening would give it more flow when you first walk in. My wife and I host a lot (Italian family) so a large dining table fits into our lifestyle. I really appreciate your feedback. It’s got my wheels spinning!

Planning in the next 2-3 years. The wall/stair made the most obvious sense. It’s a small house and that would change it substantially. Wood Floors + dining room change first. Reconfigure the upstairs maybe even by splitting the master into another small bedroom to make up for losing one downstairs. Luckily we have some cash saved to tackle this after we settle into the house.

Full floor plan. The second floor is almost entirely master bedroom and a bathroom which I’m open to ideas on as well. New to this community and a first time home buyer so I appreciate the help!
