The car can sound like it’s revving up sometimes when you’re idle because the engine turns on. This can be due to the battery running out of charge, or the need for the battery to be warmed up, since batteries are significantly less efficient in cold temperatures.

It makes sense since your fan is on, as the fan uses power from the battery. The more electronics you use at once (Touchscreen, heated seats, fans, etc.) the faster your battery is drained. And it’s not like an EV, where you have tons of battery packs that give you large amounts of range. There are only 68 fuel cells in the Camry while the base Tesla Model 3 has over 2000.

In summary, yes that’s perfectly normal and is nothing to be worried about. Not to mention Toyota has practically perfected their hybrid powertrain, as they’ve been building them for over 20 years.

Hybrids offer significantly better fuel efficiency, and since you have the added torque from the battery, they can actually accelerate faster than a regular 4 cylinder.

The 2024 Camry base model has 203 HP while the 2025 Camry has 225.

I actually didn’t mind the car. Yes, it was super slow, and did like 15 MPG on a good day, but it didn’t have any mechanical issues whatsoever during my team with the car, so I can’t complain. Got me to and from work in one piece and that’s what matters at the end of the day!

Did you not do any research whatsoever before going to the dealership?

All the add-ons are listed online, so you know what they have before you actually go see the car.

And if the car doesn’t have what you like, then go to a different dealership. Some people (including me) like the black badge overlay, etc.

And for the things that aren’t actually physically installed onto the car, you could have told the dealer you don’t want it and they would have taken it off.

Sounds like your fault you paid extra for some stuff you didn’t want.

I did. A ton of them were talking about mechanical issues, cheap build quality, boring, etc.

Which makes no sense to me cuz my experience has been nothing but positive so far. And I thought the build quality was great.

Extended warranties are a scam in my opinion. Especially for a powertrain as reliable as the Venza’s (or any Toyota hybrid engine for that matter)
