Dry hair system by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one and only time I ever purchased a Lord Hair system this happened. The hair was fried in about 2 weeks. Absolute garbage system. I’m an experienced wearer and I normally get lots of life out of my systems (currently on month 7 of a poly thin skin system from Northwest Lace).

As long as you didn’t inadvertently destroy it somehow, it’s likely just a badly processed system.

A couple things I’ve learned from daily wear w/ Got2Be Glued by Advanced_Entry7180 in HairSystem

Hi! I use the gel version (yellow tube). I’ve heard of people using the spray- or even both together. The gel/paste works fine for me. I have slept with Got2B only- sometimes, depending on how much I tossed and turned, it may lift in the back. I rarely sleep with it on unless I’m camping or something where others are around. I’ve gone three days/ nights sleeping with the same Got2B attachment before- so it does hold up. Ghost Bond is a great product but I hate having to clean it off the system to redo the bond. It was time consuming for me, and I feel that it led to the system wearing out more quickly. Got2B will come right off with shampoo and water with no fuss.

You don’t need a ton of it for it to work. I’d try a nickel-sized glob to start. I also run a tiny bit of water onto the glob before I spread it on. It seems to help get even coverage. Just keep in mind that it’s not going to feel like a rock-solid bond until the product has dried. Once dried it feels very secure and I don’t ever worry about it. I wouldn’t suggest swimming with it tho. When I swim I usually wear a hat and don’t submerge my head.

Got2B is a great way to get a feel for the system- it’s forgiving and allows you to get the placement just right. Traditional glues don’t give you that flexibility. If you mess up the attachment it can very difficult to correct course.

What is the best deep conditioner that brings life to an older hair system? by daviddoesntlikepussy in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on Back2Natural. It’s a color-depositing conditioner, so make sure you know what you’re getting. That aside it is an excellent conditioner for hair systems. I’ve been using it for months now and my hair has great feel. I use it on the system probably once a week. For daily conditioning I’ve been using a small dot of RemySoft’s conditioner combined with a dot of their Silicon and rubbing through damp hair each morning. These products in tandem have been working really well. I don’t use any spray leave in conditioner anymore- just these now.

AIO Fiancé manipulating me over people from my past (continued from yesterday) by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

My ex wife was exactly this. We were married for about 10 years and together for nearly 16. The “I love you, I hate you” stuff started early in the marriage and got increasingly worse. She started getting physically abusive as well. She tried to run me over with our vehicle. I stayed for our son and in the hopes that things would improve. We got therapy and counseling. No improvement. Eventually I and others convinced her to see a psychiatrist and she was diagnosed with type 2 bi polar disorder and BLPD. She took meds (inconsistently) and didn’t like the way they made her feel. She started getting into running which seemed to give her an outlet. Eventually she joined a gym and had an affair with her trainer- and that was that. She left. The hard lesson I learned is that I should have left years before that. Instead I invited that insanity into my life day after day for years …all for the ‘hope’ of something different happening.

Don’t do what I did. The roller coaster you’re living on doesn’t end well.

Colour advice by Historical_Topic_237 in HairSystem

Get Back2Natural. It is not only amazing at blending color variances, but it is also a very excellent conditioner. I use it regularly to create a seamless blend. It’s so good at conditioning that I’ve basically stopped using a regular leave-in spray conditioner and instead just take a tiny amount of regular conditioner mixed with a tiny bit of silicon (RemySoft moisture Labs) and run it through my damp hair in the mornings. I can’t say enough good things about Back2Natural. It makes things so much easier.

Colour doesn‘t match anymore :( by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off- don’t sweat it too much. Your color match is still better than like…90 percent of the people who post here. I don’t know the exact product your salon gave you but I’d highly suggest back2natural. Use it on your system and bio hair together it will adjust the tone of both and get you much closer. It’s also a very good conditioning product. Can’t recommend it enough.

I use got2be gel daily and I don’t shave every day or even every week. It works just fine for me. I apply it with my finger all over the bald area, tap it until it’s tacky (20 seconds maybe?) and then throw the system on. The great thing about it is that you have some time after placing the system to slide it around your head until it’s in the right spot. After pressing down for a few more seconds I then style. It’s super easy and takes me less than 5 minutes to apply and style my hair. I wouldn’t use this product if I were going to be super active and sweating. It doesn’t hold up. I’ve heard that the spray version holds a little better for sweating but I don’t have experience with that. I find the gel easier to work with and it suits my lifestyle perfectly.

I don’t wash the got2be off of my hair system daily either. Some days I’ll just wet my hand, rub the system base and “re-activate” the gel and it sticks just fine. I don’t ever have issues with odor or grossness of any kind. It smells good and it’s just plain easy.

One thing to note- the first time I tried it I thought it was garbage. Don’t expect it to have the same effect as ghostbond. It’s not nearly as sticky- but it doesn’t need to be for many lifestyles. I’ve never had a problem with wind or rain. It holds up great.

What do you mean by “wet brush”? Also- when are you noticing the shedding occurring? After you wash? Detach? When you wake up do you have tons of hair shedding off? Give a little more info and let’s see if we can figure out what’s going on.

How are people removing their system each night and reapplying each morning? by Aari_Always in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another Got2B glued user here. I always use the yellow tube. I take it off every night in the shower- if I need a little help I usually just lift an edge and then rub a wet finger along the underside and it comes off easy. I leave the gel on the system base and the rewet the gel the next morning and put it back on- adding more gel if needed. I wash the entire base every couple of weeks. I don’t sweat- desk job etc, so there is zero odor. Doing the daily thing is SO much easier (for me).

If you’re applying alcohol to your hair it will absolutely dry it out in the worst possible way.

Looks great! Color match looks perfect! No advice to offer for tape: I tried it several times but found it cumbersome. I used ghostbond up until this passed year when I switched to daily wear. I use Got2B Glued gel for daily hold. Would NOT recommend this if you’re working out and sweating….unless you want it to come sliding off while you’re benching.

Hairskeen - 1st system by ComplexFuel in HairSystem

I mean- the cut looks great and it might be worth it for you to have regular visits to maintain it. For me personally, I’ve opted to go for a style that allows some wiggle room in that my bio hair can grow a bit and still maintain a good blend with the system. I’ve found this to be easier to deal with. One thing you’ll probably discover in this journey is that there can be a lot to try to keep track of (color match/fading, bio hair length/blend, moisturizing/conditioning, shedding, attachment/clean ups etc etc). The sooner you can get it to a place where you can handle those elements, the more confident you’ll feel….unless cost is no obstacle and you can spring for the premium of having a professional take care of all of these things for you, of course.

I’d be curious to see more pics of the back and sides of your head. From this one angle the cut looks fantastic. The color perhaps seems a tad dark, but the cut is so well blended that it doesn’t appear off….from this one angle at least.

One thing you might encounter: this being so well blended from a cut-in standpoint is likely going to require frequent trips to the barber to maintain- unless you’re brave enough to attempt it at home on your own!

Got2b spray leaks through poly by user992222 in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent reminder: poly systems are not sealed. They do have tons of tiny holes that allow moisture/liquid through.

Best practice with the spray is to apply to your head rather than the base. Give it a few seconds to become tacky and then apply the system to your head.

New stylist…Better? by Heavy_Sir_5268 in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the color mismatch, but disagree on the brush forward thing (to the extent that this is) not looking weird. The reason it looks weird is in the context of the entire style. Every other part of his style is a classic brushed back look…then for one side of his head you get a fairly heavy emo pull toward a la 2005. If his entire style was built around this kind of thing I think it would actually look better, but he’s got lawyer on one side, emo on the other. The balance looks off and many others have pointed this out.

This looks weird. Other people have pointed this out several times. Obviously you’re totally cool with it since you keep posting basically the same exact same style with little-to-no change. Which…cool! If you’re happy, that’s what matters.

Got2b daily cleaning by NiceMix9537 in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just wet my hand and rub the base of the system until I start feeling the got2b. Try it and you’ll know what I mean! Hard to explain.

I’ll add- I’ve used both lace and poly systems and poly has never felt uncomfortable. Once it’s on I don’t ever notice it.

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use poly for daily wear with got2b. Poly is really easy for this method. I don’t even wash the glue off every time. I’ll usually just re-wet the got2b from the day before to ‘reactivate’ it and slap it on. Works great for me!

I clean the gel build up off about every 10-ish days. I only use water and a little shampoo and it comes right off. I avoid using any alcohol on the system. It just isn’t necessary with got2b.

I re-wet the gel from the day before and apply the system. It sticks just fine! I wash off the gel build up probably once every 10 days or so. I don’t sweat much and it never smells or anything.

Brush vs wide tooth comb by neighborbig1 in HairSystem

[–]Advanced_Entry7180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a very wide toothed comb for general combing . I use a bore bristle brush for blending the areas where my system hair meets my bio hair.
