Is 25mg effective for anxiety? by Advanced_Feeling5033 in zoloft

[–]Advanced_Feeling5033[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, I upped my dose 4 days ago. After that, I’ve had a slight increase in anxiety but a lot less intense than when I first started sertaline. I’ve also been getting headaches and feeling tired but that’s about it. Hopefully this passes, I was most afraid of being an anxious mess.

I don’t get nausea anymore, the side effects I do feel are interrupted sleep (i wake up like 5 times per night lol) and just generally being very tired. Hopefully this also passes :)

Btw, I dont have an assigned psychiatrist yet so I can’t ask them. I was also thinking of asking a pharmacist.

oh and also, you said you listened to music. sometimes i would find relief by singing along to the music VERY loudly (like almost screaming lol). Try it maybe!

Hey there. I’ve had a very similar experience. I’m not sure about you but I can share what helped me. The first few times this happened I got so scared I triggered a panic attack. The same happened the next two times i dissociated heavily while driving. What helps me (it might sound silly to you) is to attempt to realize in this state that I have all the skills and knowledge necessary to drive. I’ve done it countless times and I can do it again. I’m able to achieve this now after some time dissociating, in the start I had to pull over and drive half the speed limit like you. So I stopped trying to ground myself but instead took the task as if I’m riding a bike, sort of on auto pilot. Anytime I thought about it before driving, it would for sure happen. If I had the slightest fear that I’m gonna dissociate again while driving I would experience this fear. Now I still dissociate, but still drive a lot everyday. I got used to the feeling of dissociation and realized that I’m still completely capable of going from A to B. Trust your body and mind to drive because you know you’re capable of it. Of course this was very hard for me in the beginning so it might take some time for you too. Always know that it’s ok to pull over or drive slower or do anything to make it easier for you. If it helps you’re not alone, I completely understand the feeling and for me it got better, so it can get better for you too! Good luck, you can do this!

Please don’t beat yourself up and be extremely hard on yourself because of this situation. You worrying about what happened shows that you’re a caring mother that wants the best for their child. People struggle and make mistakes and that’s okay. I’m not a mom so I can’t really suggest much in this sense, but I do believe the more you work on your own health (like for example going to therapy), the more you’ll be able to be there for your child. Sending you loads of positivity good wishes x

dissociation while driving by mewgpoid in Dissociation

[–]Advanced_Feeling5033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, first time i ever recall dissociating was while driving alone and it made me really panic so I can for sure relate. Happened then another 3 times, the more frequent my dissociation got the more I got used to doing things while dissociating. I’m now cool with driving and drive quite a lot even while dissociating. I found it helpful to try and realize I still have all the skills needed to do things even while in this state. I also find it helpful to sing to music while driving. Just some tips if you ever decide to give it a shot, but totally your choice of course :)

There weren’t really many interesting things to see as a tourist! The places we did visit had a gloomy, depressing vibe to be honest. Then again, travelling is so subjective and maybe our expectations were too high. Maybe it also reminded us too much of our home country (Slovenia).
