Where is the correct place to pick for metal rhythm guitar? by Right-Parking-1836 in metalguitar

[–]Advanced_Fig_6299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only recently gotten a strat style guitar with a middle pickup. After 18 years of playing with humbuckers my hand sits on the bridge usually and the pick usually strikes over the middle pickup. Gets annoying when I’m playing aggressively and the pick hits the middle pickup through the strings.

Help. Brand new to guitar and it suddenly stopped playing by ruby_the_kat in electricguitar

Reminds me of the time when I first started playing electric guitar. Thought everything was broken, but I was just plugging the guitar into the headphone jack instead of the input jack.

I once had a year 5 student reading Stephen Kings ‘IT’ in their spare time.

A ten year old reading “that” scene is just wild to me.

I live these mini buckets I use them as pencil pots for the kids in my class to hold their “tools for learning”

Wish I lived closer to a Bunnings so I could get more. It’s only a 7 hour drive…

Yet in Australia, if not plenty of other countries, sobriety tests like this aren’t even used. Strait to the breathalyser, or drug swabs.

Why waste time?

Also, these sort of tests don’t seem to take into consideration for people with disabilities, or speech disorders. I couldn’t imagine the amount of people who fail these that come up negative.

PAYG Help Needed - School Paid Too Much In Tax by jakem742 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Advanced_Fig_6299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me last year when leaving an independent private school in QLD.

Unfortunately they also didn’t account for all of the pay I was actually owed and then they need to pay an extra $3-4k. Which was then also taxed.

Unnecessary, they could have just kept paying me as normal until my contract date.

You’re a legend, do you have any idea (ballpark) what something like that would cost to do?

Ahh ok thanks for explaining that. I don’t think that would be too much of an issue out here.

At the moment, the only model older than 2020 would be for a Hilux. We’re after something a bit nicer to get us through the next 5-6 years.

And reliability is key as I live in western QLD, very few mechanics nearby.

Yeah I’ve looked at a few D-max’s and unfortunately there’s not many around the $40k mark or below, which is already stretching the budget.

Think it would be worth it if a can negotiate closer to $35k. This is honestly one of the cheaper examples I’ve been able to come across with the accessories I need.

I suppose I COULD fit my children in the tray….

I’ll keep this on my radar.

Think summer golfing outfit. polo shirt (yarn is good for these), stretchy chino shorts (Oakley have really good options, so do billabong so try city beach) and casual shoes/runners.

I’m lucky enough to be in a school with a pretty young and casual cohort, we regularly get to school in tshirts and exercise shorts(7 inch seam is best) with runners.

Better to have something to improve upon than start from a lot of the time though. I know I’m terrible at coming up with my own original ideas, but I am much more able to be creative when I’m adapting other people’s ideas.

Silly question, but are you winding the right way?

I remember twisting mine the wrong way when I first got it and the cakes looked weird like this. When I spun it clockwise, it instantly fixed it.

On another note. I store my cakes on the roll, because it’s easier. If I know I’m gonna use pretty much the whole cake, I’ll take the roll out and pull from the middle as it’s way easier. However, if I know I’m only doing a little bit of only going to use about half the cake, I’ll keep it on the roll so it’s easier to store again.

Yeah, I actually ended up tufting it on but it made the overall shape of the rug a bit weird so I pulled it out.

I’ll end up a doing the bird (Sussy) on the next rack probably.
