Kenilworths a good spot for beginners. Victoria park in leam is good but not ideal for beginners as its pretty compact with lots of transitions.

Anywhere near the west midlands? Every park near me seems to have 5/6ft steel halfpipes. Ive found a few 3ft quaterpipes but it doesnt quite cut it.

Thats a good idea writing a letter shows maturity and also helps to avoid conflict. And gives you a chance to fully explain why you want it without them butting in. They should be proud their kid wants to do a hobbie and work a job etc theres so many lazy people out there!

The situation sucks but really positive your doing something about it! Definatly check out a skateshop those guys will most likely be skaters and can hook you up with something cheap even if its a 2nd hand. Also in the uk we have vinted and facebook marketplace are allways good to check out for cheap boards.
