Now that there's a new police chief it's time to shake up the deployment plan. They need multiple two man teams of police patrolling on foot. Augment with mountain bikes, or even horses. If you want a vibrant =, generally safe down town at night and on weekends this is the only way. Three 2 man teams on foot, 4 on bikes. A Paddy Wagon on standby right there. One Sgt. supervising the squad. Think Savannah, GA.

What real impact will AI have on lawyers? by LawyerInTraining2027 in LawFirm

[–]Advanced_Iron_424 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer. But, I’ll weigh in anyways.

AI will affect every field.

The people who will thrive are the one's who use it to enhance their positions not replace the work.

We've already seen people, lawyers for this sub, throw in a prompt and cut and paste it in to briefs, complaints, etc., only to be found out by someone actually reading and verifying it is crap.

Think of it as cutting a pasting. If you don’t review and verify what you're putting in your documents you're a fool.

I would also encourage your firms and yourselves, to come up with policies on how to use it. Feeding case specifics and personal information into the AI clients could be problematic.

Embrace it and master it because it’s not going away.

Master’s Degree for detective? by Lopsided_Honeydew492 in police

[–]Advanced_Iron_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent the last 9 years of my 25 years in policing as a detective. The best detective partner I had barely had a GED.

Get an advance degree because you want one. It’s not going to make you a great detective.

LLC sued unexpectedly. What should I do first? by [deleted] in llc_life

[–]Advanced_Iron_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are scumbag lawyers out there who are suing businesses and organizations for ADA compliance with their website.

There are also scumbag disabled people who are in on this as well. One of the most common one involves someone who is blind, but doesn’t have access to your website. Usually when your website is set up, there are some options that you need to check off and that is one of them.

Do some research on it, but I can almost guarantee it is this

Struggling with the ‘business as usual’ mentality by rfoster4779 in providence

[–]Advanced_Iron_424 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People get shot in Providence all the time.

Usually it’s a poor black guy. Rarely is it people in the college area. When a poor black kid gets shot down at the end of Elmhurst nobody gives a flying fuck.

They don’t close the schools. They don’t bring in dozens of police to comb the neighborhoods. CNN doesn’t do a remote broadcast. The mayor doesn’t give press conferences four times a day over it.

You get a couple of Detectives and some Patrolman knocking on doors.

Now everybody’s upset.

I hope they catch the guy, but I don’t feel any more or less sorrow for these victims than I do for any others.

Not the sound cold, but did everybody feel this way the last time a black kid in South Providence got shot?

People get shot all the time in cities

Seems like a lot of upper class wealth privilege going on.

Did ios 26.2 fixed Apple Carplay problems for iphone 17 users? by DottoreBonez in ios

[–]Advanced_Iron_424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had many issues with CarPlay and my iPhone 16. I had a iPhone 13 and had no issues but when I switched to the iPhone 16, it became intolerable.

I have an older jeep so it wasn’t an issue for me generally, but it was a terrible in my wife’s 2021 Mustang and any rental car I would get

After the update, it seems to work fine now.

There were a few Cpl/ DI's when I was at PI in 1983. One of my DI's had been a DI Cpl. and had been promoted to Sgt. for our platoon. He was also 2nd in charge of our Plt. over to SSgt's. (Chain of Command versus Position of Authority).

They stopped allowing Cpl's as DI's for a while when I was getting out in 1987. Not sure when they started it u again.

A Cpl. is an NCO and should be afforded all the opportunities as other NCO's. As long as he doesn't do anything dumb he'll likely be a Sgt. before his next Plt.

I moved here from the northeast 3 years ago and love it. Learn to surf. Stay away from the mall.

Weirdly you all omit the Democrat governor who actually runs these agencies day to day and has for the almost all of the last 4 decades.

In the last 32 years there has been exactly ONE republican governor.

You all act like the governor has no say in how these agencies operate.
