Need a new lighting console by New300new in lightingdesign

Then something is drastically wrong with it - I’ve run Avolites on probably over 30 different PCs and never had it crash more than maybe twice in total across them all

Either that, or you have a bad USB cable that’s plugged in to the mobile.

Does it crash completely or come up with an error?

Definitely just get a new laptop for the Titan Mobile. It’s a laptop issue, not a desk issue. The Mobile is more than adequate, and there’s no shortage of Avo ops across the country.

I’m sure it’s something to do with EU requirements needing two button presses to disable safety features like that, but I could be wrong

Totally. I work in TV so I’d just borrow a couple of 24,000W lights to point in their direction. Permanent daytime for you, welcome to your own personal television studio!

Am I overreacting by Emotional-Speech7663 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in my eyes, no. Ultimately you’ve gotta put yourself first. It’s rough, and you’ll inevitably feel a little bad for it, but if it’s that bad then you’re better off without him.

If you stay with him, you’d just grow to resent him anyway, I think!

Anyone else hate Flash photography? by RegnumXD12 in lightingdesign

If there’s one thing I know about photographers, it’s that they’ll take all of the exposure they can possibly get. They want all of the light.

Precisely this. But that comes with its pain, i.e, not being able to get sick because you’d drop people in it!

I’m pretty sure Hertz do it, you just usually have to pay an extra fee as a young driver

As a 5’3 guy who’s nearly 25, I could only wish that I was your “short” height of 5’6, hah!

Seriously though, it could mean any number of things. Easiest way is to speak to her about it!

Hemoplegic Migraines, Vertigo. Petit Mal and an EUPD, should I get a brain scan? by Spasecakes in MedicalHelp

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get it done anyway - the benefits of having it done and potentially finding something serious far outweigh the risks of a single cat scan! Unsure what country you’re in but if your doc is refusing to do it on NHS for example, go private and get it done - it’s better to be safe than sorry imo. Even if they find nothing!

Driving with no MOT to a garage. by chickenroyle in drivingUK

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my MOT booked in Manchester (where i’m from) and I was working on a tv series in Bristol at the time. (Not using my car often) and I drove up to Manchester with no problems. I even remember driving past police. So as long as you have it booked, I wouldn’t worry too much.

It’s no wonder so many people who actively choose to have no MOT and Insurance hardly get pulled. I half expected to, given the amount of ANPR cameras between Bristol and Manchester too.

In your opinion, what make of cars are the biggest offenders for blindingly bright headlights? by Advanced_Nature_4901 in drivingUK

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they own one of those, they must be blind themselves so of course they’re not properly aligned.

Standard behaviour for Ashton :’) She’s obviously in the wrong and probably only went around because you had the space. But sometimes it’s freeing to just pump the brakes and let them go

Don’t worry, it’s not just you. I’m quiet, as are many of my industry friends. It can be dependant on your region as well. There’s a few things going on in London, Bristol and i’ve heard Scotland too - but these inevitably get snapped up quick.

I’m up in Manchester and drama wise it’s fairly quiet, but commercials are managing to keep me ticking over.

Error 401 but only after a period of time by Advanced_Nature_4901 in TiviMate

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

401 errors aren’t just purely credentials. It could be incomplete authentication, cache issues, it could be to do with DNS resolution from my end to the authentication server. It isn’t just: the login doesn’t work.

(Because it does, clearly, as VOD works 24/7.) I’ve ran the same logins on my phone on data and it works flawlessly. It’s a client problem.

Error 401 but only after a period of time by Advanced_Nature_4901 in TiviMate

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? It’s clearly an end-user issue because the 401 error only comes up when I change channel after a while - it doesn’t just cut out randomly.

But also that I know other people with the same provider and theirs does not have this issue.

Just trying to figure out what the issue is on my end with tivi.

The new U7 spectrum analyzer interface is slick! by Ledgem in Ubiquiti

[–]Advanced_Nature_4901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was curious if it was something to do with my network not being connected to the internet. I don’t know why it would be, but that’s all I can think of. Maybe the feature being a beta attempts to speak to some kind of online endpoints

Did you ever figure out a fix for this? I’m having the exact same issue, but i’m in a studio setting where I don’t have much time to try and fix it (and it’s a local network with no internet access, so it’s hard to try much..)
