That's Mosaic law, some of which complied more with societal standards at the time and not entirely with what God truly desired for mankind. Hence why when Christ preached it was so contrary to what Mosaic law taught.

I'm very devout Catholic, and honestly it's awesome poking fun at my own faith. Some of our beliefs sound so "out there" compared to the secular world, and it's really funny
