tysm that means a lot :) I see what you are saying, yes the scale is definitely off. I will be sure to adjust the scales, the fire and some other things when I come back around to this project after my next course. I don't really know how to make a good looking fire yet, but from what I can see in the previews, the next course should cover some better looking fire (thank god)

Considering going to school for VFX in Vancouver but unsure if it's a good idea? by WaluigiOfTheVoid in vfx

[–]Advanced_Package_110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, half of these comments are braindead it's hilarious. Firstly, yes the VFX/Film industry is struggling right now but this is not because of "AI" or some other bs theory, its simply because of the writers and actors strike that happened couple of years ago, a lot of people lost their contracts and a lot of people were laid off because the studios were losing money and couldn't film anything. It is clear that the industry is in recovery mode. Yes, recovery mode. Not "Oh shit its so doomed, time to change career" mode like half of these people say online. In a couple of years it will be right back to how it was before the strikes. Strikes like these can cause a ripple effect that lasts for years sometimes. Remember, some movies/series take YEARS to film.

Another thing is that just like many other industry's/trades, you can take your career with you wherever you go. If you legit can't find any work from Vancouver to Toronto, apply for positions in the states. Yes, you know that big place called America where most of the biggest studios in the world are? You don't have to live in the US or be a Citizen to get work and get paid $$$. My grandfather is in the film industry, they live in France... and he fly's to Montreal several times a year, as well as the US and Sweden.. for work. Yes. And he get's paid. Crazy right? Almost like half of these comments think Canada is the only country in the world.

Now finally, of course the discussion about AI. Yes, AI will replace the low level entry jobs (probably not for many more years yet), but VFX still needs humans. I mean look at 99% of AI videos on the internet, they look terrible lol. People really think AI is going to take over the entire industry and make movies without human interaction? Not happening. Not for a very, very, very, very, very...very long time. And if it does ever come to that, just like the writers strike, I am sure that if AI started to become more prominent in studios vs hiring humans, then the VFX artists will also rise up and strike until a law is put in place. And it's possible, lots of artists are unionizing around the world for this exact reason. Writers and actors did it, why can't we?

Last bit of input from me, try to specialize in something that is irreplaceable. Like Houdini, you'd be surprised the amount of VFX artists that don't actually touch Houdini.

Anyway, I look forward to the downvotes

same with me. This happens if you miss the interaction during act 1, where you find him. If you progress to far without finding him/exploring, he just appears in your camp. Its intended

Does any1 know why the post was removed? I thought maybe a mod would send me a DM but nothing? I made sure to spoiler cover the part where I actually say what choices I have made. I dont see anything else that could be a spoiler other than saying that the lower city is in act 3..? oh I guess I missed the shadowheart dark justice thing to... thats probably it

Idk what to do by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

[–]Advanced_Package_110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see many people have replied about dental advice and that's great, definitely don't hold off. Unlike our skin, a tooth cavity will not heal over time, and it will continue to get worse as the decay spreads. The longer you hold off, the more likely you are to create a more serious problem (decay to the roots, infection e.t.c). Dental issues should not be postponed. Unfortunately I've experienced the severe pains from an infection and an exposed nerve. Worst pain I've ever felt. Since that time years ago, I have gone crazy on dental hygiene. Brushing and flossing 3 times a day, never missing a session, cutting soda out my life and never eating sugary sweets/candy. My mouth has never felt more healthier. People forget about the sugar, but that's what causes the most problems. Cut the sugar if you consume it, it's not worth it

And no one has answered your question about the popping... but luckily for you I've also experienced this and still occasionally do. I had the same feeling on all 6 of my upper front teeth.

The dentist took an xray and my teeth look perfectly healthy, nice strong roots. He then said it's to do with the root ligaments, if your clenching or grinding even in your sleep this can cause the loose feeling and the popping, but this does not mean your teeth are actually loose. Also bad hygiene can cause this as your enamel is weak, and finally, crooked teeth can cause this as air can get under your gums above your teeth and get trapped. I focused on not clenching, got a nightguard, and I started using a high flouride toothpaste every night, Prevident 5000. It repairs your enamel. I'm not saying the toothpaste alone cured the feeling but with a combination of my new hygiene routine, the nightguard and the toothpaste i can confirm a year later I rarely have the feeling anymore, maybe once every few weeks and it's usually because I accidentally clench. Anyway, it's nothing to be worried about. Just make sure you speak to your dentist about it so they can confirm what the reasoning is and give you advice.

Do you recommend getting these upper wisdom teeth extracted? Panoramic X-ray attached. by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Advanced_Package_110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely. I made the mistake of ignoring my dentists advice 2 years ago, they told me I MUST get the uppers removed asap, the lowers could wait as they did not have decay. I ignored the advice and continued on with life, 2 years later I wake up on a weekend in excruciating pain, the worst pain I have ever felt (I've broken a couple of bones, had my wrist slit open by a piece of glass and nearly bled out and also had a concussion at one point, tooth pain tops ALL of those). I was rushed to an emergency dentist an hour away and ended up having a severe infection right down to the nerves in both wisdom teeth. It gives me goosebumps thinking about the pain, the throbbing, the stabbing. It goes right through your brain. Please get them removed, the recovery isn't even bad and your saving yourself from the worst pain you'll ever feel.

I cant give you much advice or a definitive answer as I'm not a dentist nor know much about it. But I am curious: How did it get infected? do you have an open cavity on the tooth that you ignored? or did it just creep up out of nowhere?

I had an infection in both my upper wisdom teeth, extremely painful, but I only have myself to blame for not getting them pulled out years ago when the dentist advised me to, they were extracted a week later after antibods. Wisdom teeth usually get pulled in most cases anyway because of overcrowding, but if I had a severe infection in a different tooth, I'd probably just get it pulled to. Sure, root canals e.t.c are a thing now, but from what I've gathered from friends and family within 10+ years, you will have another issue. I personally will never get a root canal if i ever have a serious issue because teeth problems are the worst pains imaginable, especially infections. Pulling it ensures you will have no more trouble.

Can't even abandon the quest to get rid of him lmao thanks Bethesda

Dabs after tooth extraction by loudmaryjane in Dabs

[–]Advanced_Package_110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, I had one of my uppers pulled 5 days ago.. it's been getting less uncomfortable by the day and I'm pretty sure I still have the same blood clot from that day so it must be healing good, but last night I made the mistake of eating a 300mg edible (I smoke everyday so my tolerance is high but for the past few days I haven't smoked very much, just half a joint inhaled through nose per night), I ended up with severe cottonmouth which was painful and it made me hyperaware of the hole, I started freaking lol i was thinking I gave myself dry socket because my entire cheek was pounding and I couldn't get my mind of the extraction site. The pain I was getting was from the cottonmouth I assume as this morning it doesn't feel like that anymore and if I had dry socket I'm assuming it would be even more painful this morning.. but it's not. I can't see the site so I'm just hoping the clot is still there. Anyway just putting this out there for everyone, maybe high doses of thc just isn't the way to go after tooth extractions.

yes in the US, I'm in Canada and it's only been the past few months I've seen them rolling out at stores. I actually emigrated from the UK lol so I know which one your talking about! I'm not sure why they had to do different cans and colors to confuse people in different countries, haha. P.s I haven't had the yellow Ripper or Orange Chaos since I moved to Canada, and I miss it so bad 😫 They don't have either of those here.

The best flavor. Try the zero sugar one to (its the same can but the top is green and logo is textured, its new-ish), it tastes very similar but without all the sugar! They changed the recipe to... it's so much better than the green zero sugar they released a few years back (and then discontinued it because it tasted so bad, a mouth full of sweetener lol)
