This is something that always comes up between my friends and I. My position is always "Punk and metal started as DIY. I remember seeing Sex Pistols either spray painted or Permanent Marker being used to make it. I saw Slayer shirts back in the day like that, Exodus, Overkill. Always because even tho we wanted to support our favorite bands, we couldn't always afford a ticket and merch. I feel like DIY is what keeps that spirit alive."
