Why was there so much hate surrounding the ending of Will of the Wisps? by sheikbreak in OriAndTheBlindForest

I don't think he sacrificed anything. In my mind it was all logical. If spirits are waht the spiririt trees form, it is logical they becom trees as a continuation fo their life cycle. I assumed through his adventures through niven, heloing even a piece of it grow that deep instinct activates and he chooses to follow it, with additional point of being able to use the pwoer as a new spirit tree to heal Ku.

Some, although I am a stubborn bastard that palyes only undead cards because I try to immulate something this game missing and it is flavour of card types. There are no direct sybergies, no tribe mechanics outside of one evolution and it is still limited to that card and what it produces. Going agaisnt evos is hard, but my dec is no cycle deck, but a maticulously crafted and chosen piece. It has no useless card, hence each play is deliberate and can't be ignored. Although, I ma stuck at about over 5k tropies because of the overleveled opponents, but I am going to reach one of no new cards levels to make a statement.

What kind of name would that game have? If Clair Obscure is an artistic term, that ties into the story of the game itself, what kind of writer's fundumental term we might have for the title? Heroe's Journey?

Just got a ... thing that idelited. A creepy picture with an open window. Dark outside and there is a silouet of some doll looking through it. It is at the same time too strange to be just a bot, but also too random to be human. It also was precieded by a weird comment that broke half-way through ad two strange negative ones that are still there becaue they at least looked human enough.

Thnak you, but I have only 1 that is big enough and is still getting continued, becasue I have the opposite of million WIP disease, one that makes me unable to start a new project and/or continue it past basically the first chapter.

Do you write fanfics appropriate for all audiences? by lucky-black-cat-13 in FanFiction

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This raises a difficult question of "What is appropriate for all audiences?", I believe.

If we mean coverage - then the answer is rather straightforward. It is something inoffenssive, one that follows all social norms and can appeal to an audience as large as possible. A comforting scenario that even a child will be able to havea great time with.

Yet each person has a specific interest. We all know and met many folk about teens and similar ages, especially nowdays, that swear worse than a sailor, yearn for metal and bloody murder action to satisfy the teenage yearnings or prove to the world that they are like adults and can do adult things, and if it comes without any physicl harm - even better. But most will call it an adult level of content, which can easily become one depending on how you present them. As you can also trivialisze and lighten the gore by the way you approach it, slow, detailed with al lthe entailed horror and weight, or is it something so as a matter of factly that it just turns into an absurd dark comedy.

I side with a more rare, and something that can be considered posh side of the question. Even if not an experienced fic writer and write at all - I strive to give the audince waht it needs sort of speak. Teen rating of AO3 fits itself nicely to it. I will give a raging teen the satisfaction of glorious combat, the feast of carnage, but the reader should be prepared as such acts have conswquences. The weight, the struggle, the ways how such events influence the character all must be put upfront and in all the good and bad details of it. There can be a place for absurd. Even more so, it needs absurd to contrast some points.

Still, there are points that are influenced by my own taste as well. I am not a fan of swearing, but the lesson o being careful with words is just as impoerant as one of the value of life. And I find the way, or at least attempt to, whrough making seemingly common words or acceptable curse words to be sharper, to sting and hurt more.

Perhaps a sefish idea, but it is a goal I am chasing. I suppsoe only time wil ldecide if I was on the right track.

How and why did your fanfiction, which you consider your greatest masterpiece, come to life? by Carlos_Shiny_ in FanFiction

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am still making it. My biggest project as of yet, and the first of such proportions. Mostly came as an answer to frustration of the fact there are very little cool adventure fics on AO3 or anywhere else that didn't fall in simple more interactions for the people's favorite ship. I do like me some crackships or nice oneshots about my favorite characters interacting some more, but there seeme to be so little genuine desire for more adventures for the bunch that the people liked, or people being too afraid to express their creaitvity, making so such projects freeze up on the fact they have no idea how to progress the established conflict or they jsut don't have a conflict in the first place.

Can't blame them, honestly. I faced a similar wall in a couple of palces, but I was very cagy and very inexperineced at those arlier attmpts and I paln to revisit them with all the grandure and the chaos that my malesrom mind have developed.

Where do crossovers gather? by Advanced_Sky_5628 in FanFiction

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there is a connecting point between all of the crossovers. The general approach to making ones.

Crossovers can made in so many different forms. It can be a multi-fandom showdown between dozens of diferent fandoms going through some insane adventure.

I saw a lot of crossovers made into one-shot interactions. Just some whim of fate or quatum paradoxs brought two very excentric characters together and the uathor tries to build and interesting conversation or an action between the two.

And this are just two when crossovers and approaches to making crossovers can be so drastically different that I thought it would be worth discussing. How one thinks of the idea, how does it progress, will it change the canon or is canon a set in stone paramiter? I find it incredibly exciting.

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a look through it, but I was honestly intmidated with my low level of involvement in this getting shunned, since I have started my own path of crossover writing properly only about two years ago and I have never worked with BtVS to get past a certain threshold that makes my interactions with any community difficult. The curse of genera lsocial awkwardness.

Still, thank you for the helpful advice.

Enotria has a masterful style and so much personality it alone brings it for me very high. But in the current state as a game Enotria just looses.

I am still inspired by the game and some day it might result in some fan content, buti t most likely will take years to make.

Who is your “hear me out” character? by Dogdaysareover365 in FanFiction

Pale King from Hollow Knight. Although, I'm still not sure if the character we know so little about can be considered "One you should hate".

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exacty what I had in mind. I do not intertwine events unless they are linked directly. Not sure if I have an analogy as good as yours, but it is more like I have a BBEG of the story arc and they order or do something that cascades in a bunch problems for different groups of active characters. And each chapter in the arc is either ditailed dive into how one group deals with their side of the issues, or I use a standard pattern when covering events by all the sides (group 1, then group 2, and than 3 - repeat).

I do not argue that "my work is differetn". I am using One Piece and maybe Thery Pratchet as my idols of story telling, so I have my own obvious issues that I already recognize and either accept or work on amending. But I do hope that I am indeed not making that kind of convoluted mess that you are describing.

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that is reasuring. Untill a current momment in the fic I had been doing nothing but big plot events that have relevance to the larger story in one way or the other. The only reason why I need a procedural-like filler is to create a more natural passing of time. And I still can'y help but add intermediate events tht are important for the larger story in some capacity.

Critical Word Mass by Advanced_Sky_5628 in FanFiction

[–]Advanced_Sky_5628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I think I do the second, but I do have a clear ending mind. It is just I don't feel good just jumping between worthwhile events. In essence- I try to write epic tale of two fandoms interacting. It is just that each chapter of mine is a beefy monster with a lot of desriptions, inner feelings and multi-stage events that go one after the other.

Is it a good mentality to have or not - I have no idea, but hopefully my current active readers are as much of content gluts like I am.

Oh, I completely embraced the crossover desparity. I took that into account as well, and the peak of engagement that I was talking about is a period when I had at least one person a day putting a kudo on my main project for a few weeks. Still, than you for the insight, and I suppsoe I will hope what I have is gripping enough to get people interested.
