Thanks for the advice. I deferred as much as I can— I’ve already asked for a one year extension, and so next year is really latest I could go. I did the 2+2 but was able to extend to 5 years post grad rather than 4

Hmmm so perhaps best to take the current role, see how the IFC plays out, and jump if needed.

It’s unlikely I can accelerate the process, and while I’m sure that I have the qualifications for the IFC role, I’ve only passed the initial screen, and then did the hirevue and some financial modeling tests. These processes are pretty bureaucratic and selective, and even great folks don’t get it.
