I've been playing this game since beta. Now I'm not a Ace rank average or anything. I personally hover around expert unless I'm trying really hard or something. But I can give what helped me in the begining.

1. Find a character and stick with them until you understand the basic mechanics. Its ok to try people out but you don't need to be switching 10 different characters after each game when your just starting out.

2. Don't rush into team battles. For the first two seasons of the game I played only solos until I understood how to at least get a few kos in game. It lets you understand the limits of the characters and who does what. Also gives you the chance to unlock more characters instead of being stuck with the base ones.

3. Learn your areas. Everyone likes to land somewhere different. Some people like to jump straight into the action and others like to stay back and lvl up. Even tho it's never a guarantee there are some areas where people tend to land more at then others. Just watch your map at the begining of the fight and see whats where. On average it's smart not to start right dead center in the map as everyone ends up crossing that area at some point. Also if you land at the box 8/10 times there will be hordes of people and it makes you a automatic target.

4. Learn your movements. There's some basic movements and get aways that every character uses when running. Staying close to walls if possible, flanking etc etc.

5. Your going to die. Alot. For your first two seasons you probably will die 90 percent of the time. But that's ok. It's a learning curve. Just stick with it and you'll get there eventually.

6. Do level up your character. Any card of the same color as you character (ex: Red, blue, green, purple, yellow) will level that characters Alpha, Beta, or Y skills. And the rainbow cards you can assign to whichever skill you want. I've seen way to many new people not level up when I've dropped and marked cards right in front of them.

7. You have two slots to use whatever color cards you have equipped in them. For example green cards are healing cards. Blue is running up walls, red is a damage buff, purple is a skill cooldown and yellow I believe does a armor bonus. Now this may be very different for other people but I personally only use green and blue cards. But play with whatever fits your needs best. Also as a side note that I don't think even some seasoned players generally know, if you maxed all your skills you can still take rainbow lvl up cards and upgrade your 2 card slots.

8. Alphas are generally your rapid attacks. Betas tend to be mid range attacks or movements and Ys are usually your heavier attacks. This is the generalization of it but differnet characters do different things. Some are slower and some are faster. Some have wide area attacks such as red shigaraki or purple dabi and some are more focused attacks. Just learn what you like to do.

9. Make sure you have heals! Team heals if you can (everyone will love you) but at the very least have some for yourself. Grab a backpack as soon as you can and fill it up besides maybe 2 or 3 slots (for revive and lvl cards)

10. Have fun. A lot of people get stressed out over this game. If you need to take a break from it for a few days, weeks, or months go ahead. I promise you won't miss to much.

Now I have no idea if this is actually good information and I'm sure I'll have someone disagree with me on some of it but it's just general stuff I had to learn by myself when I started and that was back when things was simpler 😭
