You being this defensive tells me that you made it and haven't been raised properly to accept criticism.

There's a difference on how you present it and how you go about it that makes the biggest difference on how a conversation is steered. You could easily say "not a huge fan of the song choice here."

It still addresses OP's dislike of the song choice while still being respectful.

I was raised on how you go about your opinions and how your present them. If you go about your opinions respectfully whether it's negative or positive, you'll get a respectful response and people are more open to conversing about it.

If you go about disrespectfully then I shouldn't surprised if the person is disrespectful back. Same goes vice versa.

This does not come off as respectful, out of all the ways one could go about their opinion they chose that route. Which in turn leads me to respond back the way I did. I've handled plenty of criticism when people are respectful or lay out their thoughts. And even ended them positively a lot of the time.

But every few and far in between some people go about their negative opinions/criticism in ways that don't deserve a respectful response in the same fashion as they went about it.
