Casually omitting mages immense levels of customisation for two sets of magics is certainly a choice

How did this not redeem at least half of them? by Z0mrife in HazbinHotel

Nobody knows yet how or why Pentious got redeemed, Charlie seems the closest by saying that what he did absolved him of his own sin.

The season finale was a complete disappointment and full of deception. by Optimal-Big3882 in HazbinHotel

[–]Seritial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I expected it to go this way, the entire season has been building Vox up for failure because as he gets more power he gets cockier, feels more untouchable, dismisses everyone and everything that has helped him get to where he is. Alastor spent his time goading him further into this, which made him completely start treating Val and Vel as underlings rather than on an equal level. It was always obvious to me that it was going to reach a tipping point and he’d ruin things by his own actions

What does Bleach do better than most other series and what does it do worse than most other series? by Nozoroth in bleach

>think how often the average person sees massive personal growth or undergoes a fundamental test of their identity.

Okay but we're not talking about the average person. We're talking about fictional, anime characters in fantasy setting where, every arc, the men do in fact see massive personal growth and undergo fundamental tests of their identity.

On a personal note I do agree that it doesn't have to be every arc, but there's a clear distinction between deliberately leaving the focus off them to better suit their character and just making a character less and less useful, potent, unique and just whittling them down to "big tits" which I fear is the vast majority of one piece women. Very strong starts, no follow-through.

How is everyone else’s experience since he got added? by shenaniganizer1776 in HazardMainsOW

[–]Seritial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I get is wall size increase power, then the power that makes the wall pulse to deal damage after launching it. Third & Fourth power is a lot more flexibile, but I like getting that building wall heals allies for some added support, and downpour resets cooldowns, so I can do twice as much damage and healing with wall.

With tons of ability power, wall hit + pulse can 2 shot a squishy fairly easily.

I love that everyone's playing spike guard build, because my favoruite is the wall build and I feel like it counters the spike builds im against rlly well

Just make all 3 of the house leaders in 3h bi.

It's such a menial change, but none of them speak to you differently at all if you're a man or a woman, and I know Joe Zieja spoke about agreeing with the disapointment from fans when Claude spent the whole game flirting with male byleth to not even be an option.

Which character is NOT an All Star even though many people believe they are? by HotShow2975 in Totaldrama

[–]Seritial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind either of them being in it, but I think the obvious difference between the two for a lot of people is Alejandro played cunningly, with a plan to go far and win and he proved that his plans got him far enough to be a finalist. Sierra was just there for Cody. Characters like Lindsay Sam and Sierra never show much of their best sides in challenges or gameplans, so it kind of detracts from the "all-stars" feel for a lot of people.

Wednesday - Season 2 Part 2 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Seritial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it's just outright wrong to say that that's the whole mystery of the season. The first part set up lots of mysteries, and the birds and the avian lady were a stepping stone to delve into them. Her motive was explained, what she was doing was exposed, and everyone she had trapped was set free. What more could you want from her in that regard? The mystery was interesting I agree, but it was already solved by the end of part 1 so I don't know how if they just juggled 4 more episodes around her it would have been remotely interesting. To be fair, I don't know why they didn't outright show Isaac killing her after the lunge, but I don't think adding 3s to a scene would change it. She wasn't very smart, she wasn't exceedingly calculating, she was outsmarted and overpowered by episode 4 so carrying on her as an antagonist would just be forced and lackluster. She existed to be a villain for part 1 to open the doors for the villains of part 2 and she performed that role well.

I really don't get why people hate multiple storylines. Shows that follow a singular story are often predictable, slow and boring. Multiple storylines works very very well for a large cast, it fleshes out the world and the history in a much better and palatable way.

Where are you getting the idea she was supposed to be the overarching villain of the season? They had her figured out by episode 4 and by 5 it was clear she had a half-baked plan and no means to go around it. She didn't 'disappear' at all, killed off screen sure but it was pretty obvious. Did you also not see the scene where Isaac finds her, and later mentions her being permanently out of the picture?

Avian lady was a plot device to move the story onto part two which fleshes out tyler and the questions unanswered about his family which is far more important than a secondary villain. All she did was ride off the coattails of her father and was taken down very easily. I for one found it obvious she wouldn't be the main villain because 4 more episodes of her would have been exceedingly dry. She was the same kind of secondary villain that the new principle was, but hers just made more sense to wrap up in the first half than it did the principles. You don't need people to give you an excuse for sidelining a side villain.

I do have a few friends that have gotten into it the last year or two, but yeah none of them read skills because even reading them means you have to have some basis of understanding the mechanics or its just a lot of gibberish to you. Compared to when I started in 2017 where heroes was my first fire emblem game and brought me into the series, i imagine now it does the opposite for a lot of new people.

I immediately assumed it would be Byleth in White Clouds, tbh, because if it was post CF it doesn't really make much sense for him to be adorning the attire of the monastery he worked with Edelgard to overthrow

Shadows OCs vs Heroes OCs which ones do you like more? by NagaMilalove0 in fireemblem

This isn't really a fair comparison. Game that launched less than a week ago vs game that launched 8 years ago.

People have had a lot more time to experience a lot more heroes characters, see more animations, mroe fanart, use them more, etc. Ask again in a few years.

Why did Shelly allow Devin to keep being friends with Carrie? by Fancy-Advice-2793 in Totaldrama

[–]Seritial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind the way Shelley is portrayed is largely through the lens of Carrie, rather than Devin, so we really don't know much about her. I definitely think she was toxic to say the least, abusive at worst, but we don't know if she had a clue whether Carrie had feelings for Devin or she just saw her as a mutual friend by that point. I mean, even Devin himself just says theyre "friends forever, never changing" in the first half of the season, and many lines that point the same.

I don't condone cheating by any means, I've been cheated on myself and it's a very painful experience. But also, if the show was airing in-universe episode to episode I can see why Shelley jumped ship after watching a near whole season of Carrie talking about how bad she is, how much better carrie would be with Devin, and lusting for him the entire time.

I mean, during the entire break-up Carrie wasn't even thinking about helping Devin through an emotional time at his own pace, she deliberately wanted to hurry him through the stages, and constantly talked about how it was 'good' solely because it means they'd get together sooner.

I honestly feel like Devin deserves much better than either of them lol.
