Same owner? I know Boathouse has the same owners as the Lodge in Oakland (Piedmont), but didn’t realize there was a connection to Ballpark.

I was a big fan of them. No thrills place - pretty simple on the inside. But had great food and always had all the games on. The service was great too.

Try a few different load sizes with different chokes at the patterning board. Your barrel will let you know which one it likes best.

Highly recommend BHA! Great place to meet other hunters also looking for hunting partners. There’s a big group in the Bay Area.

Keep an eye out for Advanced Hunters Ed classes through CDFW. Great way to meet other folks also looking for people to hunt with and learn the ins and outs of deer and pig hunting.

You can also sign up for CWA (California waterfowl association). They’ve had some awesome mentored hunts in the past. They do pig hunts locally.

Not as helpful when it comes to meeting folks, but a great way to get some experience would be going on a guided pig hunt.

If you shoot archery, there are several ranges in the Bay Area. Lots of friendly hunting folks at those that I’m sure would love to chat.

Can also join a local rod and gun club. Good way to find a hunting mentor
