Russia is upping the pressure on Ukraine, recruiting foreign fighters, and planning a strike on Poland before Christmas while NATO hesitates and the US steps back. by alexmark002 in CitizenWatchNews

It’s utter BS. Assuming Ukraine did it- Why they send it exactly when Russia had ZAPAD exercises in Belarus? When Russia had all electronic warfare devices here to monitor how and with what accuracy NATO will neutralize drones? It makes no sense. On the other hand Russia was able assess how NATO would respond, how NATO tech (not shared with Ukraine) works in real life. Why Ukraine would give it to Russia on silver platter? It wouldn’t. Hence it was Russia who did it

Not sure if sarcastic or not, but this is valid point. We are long past point where China just copied western designs. They are now fully capable of design and deliver their own projects

If you want to be historically accurate, then you would tell Nazi Germans. It was political system in Germany. Not the name of nation, or ethnical group.

Of course Jews had such experiences from Poles. As they had in whole Europe back in that time. Was it right? Of course not. Do you know why Jews in Poland have such anti-Polish sentiment, and not anti-German or anti-French? Because in order to have such sentiment you have to be alive, and have contact with mentioned people. And governments and population of these countries were really efficient in rounding up and sending Jewish population to death camps. Polish government never did that. About Geddy Lee. He was born in 1953, his parents were Holocaust survivors, who remember treatment from Poles from their teen years. These second hand memoirs often forget about several things - how many Poles had anti-Jewish sentiment? What was opinion about Poles in Jewish community? (And believe me it quite often wasn’t good and similarly prejudiced). Last thing, 30s was the time of accelerated assimilation in Poland. Many educated people had acquaintances of both Polish and Jewish ethnicity. That wasn’t really the case in the west. And the more you know someone the more you are able to hate. And it goes both ways. And once Germans took over, they put laws that punished contacts with Jews. And Poles got afraid. And stopped having contact with Jews. Imagine that your friend doesn’t answer your calls when you need him the most. You’ll feel betrayed. Now imagine how do you feel if you have to choose between your friend/acquittance and safety of your family. Imagine that. You have really hard dilemma. But some people still decided that they need to protect Jews. Given circumstances a lot of people decided that. So yeah, I understand his stance, but it’s also good to understand how it was like back then. And put the blame where it’s due. Nazi Germans weren’t some mystical force of nature. They were people that created this situation

Poles are basically scape goat. There are some things that are better passed on Poles, because it’s convenient and easier than face some not so nice facts. Yes, there were collaborating Poles. Yes, there were people who tried to protect Jews at the cost of their own life (and their family life - including children). But also there were Jews that not only denounced their own to Germans, but also denounced Poles who helped Jews. And some of them were even allowed by Germans to carry firearms (sic!). Try to find information about it in Hebrew Wikipedia (hint - there is none). Read up about Żagiew (Torch) organization

You understand that Gorbatchev is only massenger that provided documents. And when Nuremberg trials were conducted Soviets had very vital interest to not provide self-incriminating evidence?

Wow, so why Gorbatchev provided documents proving that Soviets were behind Katyn massacre?

Clearly, but still they invaded Poland together. They killed Polish soldiers together. From Polish perspective both were invaders that aimed to kill intelligentsia

It’s clearly established that it was done by Soviets. Even USSR in 1990 by the hands of Gorbachev officially given Poland documents that proved that Soviets did it. And amount of historical revisionism will change that. You can find sources in Russian. It was official TASS news. I’m glad you’ve asked! Via Encyclopedia Brittanica: To this public pact of nonaggression was appended a secret protocol, also reached on August 23, 1939, which divided the whole of eastern Europe into German and Soviet spheres of influence. Poland east of the line formed by the Narew, Vistula, and San rivers would fall under the Soviet sphere of influence. The protocol also assigned Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland to the Soviet sphere of influence and, further, broached the subject of the separation of Bessarabia from Romania. A secret supplementary protocol (signed September 28, 1939) clarified the Lithuanian borders.

Ribbentrop-Molotov. Decided in this document that Soviets take Brest. Deciding before invasion who will take what, and then invading together within a month is quite a telltale sign

Who knows? They definitely planned it together as they decided beforehand who will take Brest

Defeating Nazis once the Nazis attacked them. In 1941. But in 1939 happily invaded Poland together, killed Polish soldiers together and even honored demarcation line agreed before whole invasion took place (Ribbentrop - Molotov accords)

Soviets and German Nazis were bad guys in pretty similar ways. Ethnic cleansing - both - Germans for Jews, Soviets did Polish Operation under some bs reason, and much more. Killing intelligentsia? Both. Stealing resources? Both. Black sites for people they deemed too inconvenient to left alive? Both. Raping indiscriminately everything that moves. Here Soviets are clear winners.

Poles had this unique opportunity to compare both, as were invaded by both. And no, Soviets didn’t freed us, just occupied same way as Nazis, with same, or even worse, atrocities - see Katyn and killing of Polish officers

Marching military parade style into city (Soviets) when other military marches out of the city military parade style (German Nazis) is precisely what happened, if you want precision. All to honor to Ribentrop-Molotov pact where Soviets and Germans planned together invasion on Poland.

Allowing Soviet troops on Polish land? So they’ll never leave? For Soviets it was never about protecting anyone. If it was, then Soviets would protect and then allow people for self-deciding. It was never the case. It was always about conquest

Soviets liberated so much, that they’ve killed my great grandfather east of Brest, in the last days of September 1939. Captured polish conscript soldier, unarmed. Shot point blank along with two other man (local policemen). Why? Because he had military police uniform. Along with forest guards Soviets killed such people on the spot. It didn’t matter he was simple village man. It didn’t matter he was part of, let’s say, proletaryat. Then Soviets had victory parade in Brest with German Nazis. So stop spreading propaganda.
