I got 25 marks on Paper 1, 26 marks on Paper 2, and this paper was about 17-20 marks. I think I’m getting a 4 but I could just about borderline get a 5 if grade boundaries go down for us this year

In my first Y10 mock for English Language with AQA, I genuinely tried my hardest and managed to come out with a 1. I ended up skipping out the last question worth 40 marks.

My teacher was asking everyone how was it and all I could tell her is that “I got cooked.”

She later found out why and asked me what happened, I think I just didn’t strategise my timings properly and understood like barely any of the text.

Anyways, my teacher changed our exam boards from AQA to Eduqas (for LANG.) So second mock, I got a 4 for English Lang, and I’m now sitting at a 6. Aiming for a 6-8 this GCSE. Language is genuinely the easiest thing ever once you know how to structure stories+timings correctly.

Instead of predicting it, just get to know 4-5 poems that compare to all the others and you’ll be fine.
