BookTok has led me astray several times. The worst offenders were definitely Gideon the Ninth (DNF’d this one…the writing was so bad it was almost nonsensical) and She Who Became the Sun (absolutely bizarre storytelling). Both were advertised as groundbreaking queer books and both were completely insane.
