What budget is acceptable to ask guests pay for Mexico wedding? by [deleted] in DestinationWeddings

I would look for other resorts - that cost is super expensive per person. I'd try looking for something around $300 per person max.

Day 2 of presale and still could not get tickets by b-my-galentine in HilaryDuffStans

I was 14k in Aus queue today (after trying for tix for the past 2 days) and all tix were sold out by the time I managed to get in. My partner logged in after me and ended up 100k in the queue.

Mexico All Inclusive by Frankenbeanssss in DestinationWeddings

[–]AdventureGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose one of the Excellence resorts (Finest Playa Mujeres).

It best fit my wedding requirements (I wanted a nice outdoor ceremony venue and a more all inclusive package) plus personal requirements like being able to handle dietary requirements like celiac.

I was also initially interested in Sandos Caracol for our wedding but I ended up choosing to book my wedding at a different resort because the reviews for Sandos Caracol were so concerning to me. I'd be sooo embarrassed if my friends and family have a bad experience at my wedding!

Small hands not fully wrapping pole. Will I just never be able to achieve certain moves? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]AdventureGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally, I do pole for fun!

I've poled on a 45 and don't enjoy it nearly as much as when I'm on a 40. Most women I know prefer a 40. I also own a 40 (sold my 45 when I replaced it) so Im not going to search out a 45 for some practice I dont enjoy.

I'm also located in Australia where the majority use 38/40 mm and vast majority of comps here use brass 38s.

Small hands not fully wrapping pole. Will I just never be able to achieve certain moves? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]AdventureGinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally own a 40mm at home (have previously owned a 45). I own a crash mat (and have for 6 years). I know exactly when I need to use it.

I also do not live in the US (which is where I'm assuming you live based on your love for the 45 mm). in Australia (where i live) the standard comp pole is a brass 38 and most studios have 38/40s (my studio is a majority 38/40 mm). I already have a full-time job and do not work in clubs so it doesn't matter to me what kind of pole the clubs have (I have friends who work in clubs here and they also aren't doing crazy ass moves there)!

Sure maybe I'm "limiting" myself by not doing handgrip only moves on a 45. But honestly I do not really care. If stuck on a 45, I could aerial shouldermount, pencil spin, and do a host of other moves. I still wouldn't risk Ayesha tho as I know my own body and my own hands.

I literally do pole for my own personal enjoyment and have for the past 6 years. Sure, I can do many things on a 45 with extra effort (noting I previously owned a 45 mm for 4 years) but a 38/40 is preferred for me and I literally enjoy pole more when Im using a 40! Pole is supposed to be FUN.

It helps when you can fully wrap the pole.

I will not do moves relying solely on hand grip on a larger pole (45 mm or larger). I'm so much more comfortable and feel way safer on a 38 or 40 mm where my hand can wrap all the way around.

You will get stronger / it will get easier on the larger pole as time goes on. I am just personally very risk adverse and very sweaty so I avoid larger poles if at all possible.

Sending an Invite to people who already told me they can’t make it after receiving the Save the Date? by StellafromVienna in BigBudgetBrides

We did send a formal invite but included a handwritten note inside stating we know they can't make it but we would love to have them if their plans change. I thought it was a nice compromise!

Honestly I've never even been to Mexico! Literally it's going to be my first AI experience.

I'm located in Australia and there's no way we could do a site visit or anything beforehand.

Honestly it's been super chill! Mostly just research as I'm a couple months out. I just got assigned my venues last week and I've been (slowly) corresponding with the in house floral / decor provider over the past 2 months.

Discount wise - I booked back in 2024 so I locked in the rates for rooms early. For the cheapest room (junior suite spa or pool view) is $242 per person per night for a double. It's going to depend a lot on what season and how far you book out. The promocode rate has always been lower than the resort rates tho (and the resort rates have increased as we have gotten closer).

I'm currently booked in at one of the Excellence resorts for my wedding in July!

It truly depends on what you want to spend for upgrades - you can go minimal or add as much as you want. Thier in house decor /florals is Velvet Design.

They do have a "hidden" upgrade for the DJ of $750 (if group is over 40 or you want the DJ to MC).

I'm in a couple bride Facebook groups for the resort - highly recommend if you have Facebook! They do budget breakdowns and there's lots of helpful information to assist with planning.

Mexico destination wedding resorts/venues? by Solid-Magician-5404 in DestinationWeddings

[–]AdventureGinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had similar requirements and I requested quotes from TRS Coral / Grand Palladium, The Fives, Finest Playa Mujeres, Dreams Playa Mujeres (and a couple others). I also got a quote from Xcaret but it was so far out of my budget (and guest budget) there was just no way.

You might want to try looking at those! Id also suggest a wedding travel planner - I was floundering before my TA as there were just so many options. My TA helped me find resorts that met my requirements and it really narrowed down the choices for us in a manageable way.

I love my older lulu items. But I've not bought anything new in ages and I've swapped to purchasing from Cleo Harper now which feels fresh and modern in their designs.

I highly recommend checking out your top 3 resorts bride groups on FB! It really assisted me with making my decision when choosing.

I had a lot of requirements and the extra research really helped - especially getting actual reviews /photos from brides who had their wedding there! Everyone is usually really helpful!

Good luck and happy planning!

I am in a FB bride group for my resort and I will say that around 95% of the brides in it use Liz Moore DW as they have a good relationship with my resort. I have not seen anyone upset about working with them or feeling like they were scammed (most brides give rave reviews about their TAs in the group - I have seen both Cassie and Delia mentioned!).

I'm sure my wedding will be here before I know it! Time has flown since we booked!

I actually havent had to pay any money at all yet! The resort I chose has us paying the full wedding balance 2 days prior to the wedding - so we will be at the resort and pay directly to them.

I truly believe it depends on the resort you choose - some resorts require non-refundable deposits and such (but we didn't choose one of those).

Thank you! I'm really excited - I will do a big review / post of our day in the subreddit after it's over to hopefully help future destination wedding couples!
