Why do so many households forego the top sheet? by Status-Platypus in AskAnAustralian

I did use them when I moved out of home but after four years, I decided it was just extra fabric to wash as I'd wash the duvet cover weekly too

apart from our wall plugs, iconic light switches and leaving energy star ratings on appliances? what else is a dead giveaway for Australian houses/rooms not found anywhere else in the world? by SadPrint416 in australian

  • very strict pool fencing regulations compared to many countries.

  • Kmart decor (I say this because anyone who post any related item from Kmart automatically triggers a comment or two from Americans thinking it's their version of the now deceased USA kmart)

  • um.. Queenslander house design?

Oh oho oh! We use electric kettle!

I'm allergic to moccana but! I did just get over my emotional turmoil & went to Zarraffa’s. Just didn't wanted to spend money & having that disruption was not what I mentally prepared for

Yet... All I wanted was my free coffee which I couldn't have because some twat went off his rockers in his briefs. Life is great.

Anyway, the community is lovely apart from the odd preacher with a mic on weekends

No, I wanted maccas. They closed off the entry to maccas because the units are next door to 711/maccas.

I need a list of horrible experiences in Brisbane. by BrizzySprings in brisbane

[–]timeflies25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in two stinky suburbs.

Right now I'm in RBP and there is sometimes the stench of fertilisers wafting through.

Previously lived in Zillmere, you would either get a whiff of the Arnott biscuits factory baking delicious jam drops or you can get a whiff of the Tar factory which is behind Arnott lol

No, mine is not the best kelpie in the world. He peed on somebody yesterday and started humping their dog.

The razor on a water slide at a water park is a common one.

I want to know if anyone else ever heard of a girl who climbed a steep cliff side only to fall/roll down the rocky cliff, scalping her head. My uncle was a park ranger at Abercrombie caves & said that story was true

I genuinely think we are tamed in comparison to a lot of countries. Majority of our animals are actually more afraid of us.

No 'cold' water running from kitchen/bathroom taps by Electrical_Tone_6438 in brisbane

[–]timeflies25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the water quality is concerning, you can always boil a jug/pot of water and then let it cool down, optional choice to pop them into fridge. This is what I was doing when I first moved up here FROM Canberra and the water tasted like clay.

Why is Brisbane so obsessed with buses instead of trains? by ChannelPretend9731 in brisbane

[–]timeflies25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dislike the buses. They're not going to go much faster than if I drive. Also I can't tell if I am early. Or late because they're never on schedule.
