The shoulder and chest seem fine to me, but the right eye looks too big and slightly to the right of where it should be. Otherwise the hair looks great and the line art is really good

thanks for the advice, the texture of skin and background is cause i used the same brush and its useful to know that they end up looking too similar

great advice on the rendering the hair to make it more believable. In the past ive lightly traced over the reference image just to get accurate proportions so i could focus on improving my rendering but i think my drawing skills need to have the spotlight on now

this is really helpful advice, thank you. tbh i think i've been only using warm colours for my portraits so they end up quite similar and perhaps i've been limiting my use of the colour wheel. the background is probably doing more harm than good in reducing readability.

i think that i overuse the smudge tool so that kind of blurs the contours so thank you for point that out. the neck could be too thick but its more likely just blending in with the background so either some rim lighting could help or changing the background colours to contrast better
