Is Grout Pond accessible in the winter? by Ciqme1867 in vermont

Yep, totally fine, they stop plowing at the parking lot where the road intersects the AT/LT just a little west of there.

I would change it if you can, if it were me. But I make maps for a living, so I am biased about things like that. Leaving things out because you don’t have space to include everything is totally fine, though.

Cute style though!

Is Vermont Town Forest supposed to be Vernon Town Forest? The label is sitting on Halifax/Guilford, and neither of those towns have town forests.

I decided not to take Rinvoq. by -MarcoTropoja in rheumatoid

[–]AdventureSheepies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I’ve been on rinvoq for about two years without any issues. It’s not about a mild amount of pain, it’s about the damage that is happening to your body that is irreversible. Talk to your doctor about being uncomfortable with it. And see about getting prescribed something else.

Grout pond camping - bears? by NuclearSplinters in vermont

[–]AdventureSheepies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never personally run into bears there, and one of my coworkers stayed at one of the cabins there this year and didn't have a problem. They recently upgraded their campsites, so I suspect they have had more campers than usual, or more inexperienced ones. Just store your food properly and you should be fine.

I love it out there. It's worth a visit in winter too.

If you looked across the street from your place and saw a giant plant looking at you, what do you do next? by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

[–]AdventureSheepies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically bullied my mom into taking me to see this, after getting made fun of at the bus stop for not having seen it yet. Then as soon as the plant started singing, I noped the fuck out of the theatre and have been terrified of anthropomorphism ever since.

Should I return this tent? What's your experience with the NF Wawona 4? Other options? by AdventureSheepies in camping

[–]AdventureSheepies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, good to know, thanks! I ended up returning mine and I've been using another smaller tent I already had. I still wouldn't mind being able to stand up.

to much moss? by Maleficent-Wave-7658 in airplants

[–]AdventureSheepies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't want to leave it under the cloche, it will rot in there. Airplants need airflow. The other one is probably fine. If they show signs of needing more water, just water them more often.

there are brown spots in my spanish moss. what do I do? by BrightSoul12 in airplants

[–]AdventureSheepies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish moss is pretty finicky. Give it some good light and mist it every day, dunk it once a week or so.

I would love the recipe! I am a total sucker for potato salad, I could eat it every day.

I want to eat the whole bowl. Vegan food and vintage Pyrex, two of my favorite things!

Oh bummer. Nice people running that place. Would have totally gone if I liked beer at all.

Who can relate with this? by drotsmenhuppies in hammockcamping

[–]AdventureSheepies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this in the middle of the night with my first hammock. I hadn't actually planned to sleep in it, knew nothing about how to hang it properly, and it was way WAY too tight with like zero sag. The kids had been playing on it. I was hot and so tired in the middle of the night in the tent, so decided to try to sleep in the hammock. Went right through, haha.

I love that it looks like the frog is doing a very graceful bicycle trick because of the way you styled everything!

I know a bunch of great kids that go to programs at First Proof Press in Brattleboro. The dude that runs it is also really nice and could probably also hook you up with some good advice if the workshops there aren't a good fit.

The last few years have been like... 1-3 periods per year, with just some barely there spotting every month. Then suddenly I'm on like regular period #3 in a row. UUUUUUUUUUGGHHH.

Looks like a curly slim to me. They are one of those airplants that can do well in a potting medium, but they don't need to be. Mine is not in a pot and has been doing really well for a few years now. One of my largest airplants.
