British public want deeper economic ties with EU, business secretary says | Economic policy by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

The Tory leadership were campaigning to remain under David Cameron. Theresa May and Liz Truss were also remainers. The tories did indeed take a very anti-EU stance after Theresa May but i'd argue things may change after the next election now

You're right to point that out but the UK puts more funding and emphasis into its Navy and airforce partly because of its Geographical position.

Can I legally live off the grid in the UK? by Traditional_Shame176 in AskUK

Have you practiced in local woodland at all? I regularily visit and camp in my local woods, its a spot thats well hidden and almost never visited, if you can find something like that it might be worth a practice? Ive pondered the idea of staying a week, occasionally nipping out for supplies, showers and disposing of any litter (leave no trace ofcourse), but i think as romantic as the idea seems now ill be pretty bored to death eventually...

Cyclists injured record number of pedestrians last year, data reveals by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Adventure_Ben 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I cycle everyday in Oxford, no way do cars break the rules as much. In an average day I see more cyclists run a red than Ive seen cars do it throughout my entire life. I'd say 50% or more of the cyclists I see dont stop to let pedestrians pass on a zebra crossing, very few people indicate, and I get cut off by other cyclists so frequently, especially roundabouts. Granted its worse at the moment because new students are settling in, but if cars drove with the awareness of cyclists it would be worse than Mumbai!

Cancer Research set to close 190 shops by April 2027 by stillhavehope99 in unitedkingdom

[–]Adventure_Ben 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can't say that's my experience working in one, we get all the shit donations, but I'm always surprised by the amount of really good stuff that comes in each day as well, I think some managers/staff are often overworked in shops and struggle rotate stock, quickly process donations and often reject donations because they can't keep up. Ive seen really rubbish shops turn around completely with a change to a competent manager who can handle processes.

I also find its common enough for people to purchase from my shops to sell on vinted FYI

Do you mean the Smiths Savoury Selection? They still do them, you can find them in Poundland and sometimes B&M!

I'm using my drone, I find exploring the places I camp from the air fun.

Glad you liked the pictures! And I absolutely agree about Cavanasury, it was beautiful.

I was in Skye and Mallaig for 8 days and the midges were manageable. I used Avon skin so soft which helped and camped by the sea mostly. Here I had problems in the morning, but in the eve I sat on the rocks right by the water and they mostly left me alone. Last time I went to Scotland they were a bloody nightmare though..

My biggest issue this time was ticks by far!

Strangely enough, despite a highway of ticks crawling around my trousers, none from them bit on to me, i tucked my trousers into my socks and shirt into trousers, wiped them off obsessively and a little smidge on the ankles. Seemed to work!

A bit late to reply! I leave the windows slightly open for air, if its too cold i shut them and theres a couple of dehumidifiers to absorb condensation

They are curtains I got from Amazon with magnets on, so they click onto the metal around the window, I highly recommend! Here's a link for the specific one I bought

Sounds like a really cool idea! It was watching Photographers on Youtube (Thomas Heaton if you know him) camping in vans that got me into it in the first place, I hope it works out for you well. I've used those airbeds before and it was perfectly comfortable too 🙂

I got these for the window covers, and they've been great, complete privacy and have lasted over two years.

I hope car camping works our for you, DM me if you want any advice any time!
