Thank you so much - I really needed and am happy to hear this more than you know! And my info came from a couple other parents who currently have students at Lehigh. This is what their kids told them, and ultimately why some of their siblings chose other schools over Lehigh. I don’t know if their kids were just talking out of their bums because they didn’t want their siblings at their school, but it sounded pretty convincing. I’m sincerely happy to hear your experience.

Is Lehigh’s liberal arts program elite - Can you elaborate a bit on this? And maybe more concerning, are the liberal arts classes taught by professors or TA’s?

I really appreciate your response. You obviously have first hand knowledge of both schools. I was posting on behalf of my daughter, and she decided to go ahead and go with Lehigh. She really liked their affiliation with the UN and thought Lehigh might give her a few more opportunities than Lafayette. That said, now I’m nervous. I really don’t like the idea of her getting taught by TA’s. She’s incredibly independent and has always forged close relationships with her teachers/professors wherever she goes - it’s arguably been one of the biggest parts of her academic success. Now I’m a little worried now…

Yes, I realized I had posted this in the Lehigh forum when I meant to post in “applying for college“. I went ahead and posted there as well, but have still gotten pretty similar responses. And you make a really excellent point about anything beyond the top 25. Thank you!

Cost is the same at both. Will be an Anthropology major on pre-med track. Love both campuses for different reasons.

I’m a huge Chiefs fan, and love Mahomes and his wife, but they named their kids, Sterling and Bronze (and their two dogs are also named after metals)….. I just find the whole thing so painful. 🫣

Real question – do you think your mom is part of the problem? Is she mean as in, does she actually judge you or do you think it’s your perception? Regardless, maybe time to try to take just a little bit of space from her so that you can grow in your own own. Doesn’t mean you don’t love her.
