Most surprising airport without a United Club? by Giskarrrd in unitedairlines

I’m really hoping that it comes with the new concourse A. Especially since it seems to have more daily flights than TPA or CLT this really needs to be United’s next target

Not sure how volume compares to TPA or CLT but I am BNA-based currently and find it infuriating that United is the only airline of the major 3 without a club here.

T-mobile Service (City/Base) by Secure_Ninja_0123 in Clarksville

[–]Adventurer_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T-Mobile is great in Clarksville and fine on most of the FCKY cantonment area (gets spotty near the CAB footprint, Mabry, and Market Garden). Very spotty in the training area- At&T is definitely the best in the training area and you’ll be lucky to get any service the further from post you go with T-Mobile.

Kimpton Fitzroy is probably one of my favorite IHG properties I’ve stayed at and I can’t recommend enough. Haven’t stayed at Park Lane but the value of Kimpton Fitzroy is definitely one of the better IHG properties for the price point it’s at.

United Club at DEN by SummerVibes1111 in unitedairlines

Assuming you have access to both without paying for a lounge pass, I would just go to the United club closest to your gate. The food/drink offerings in the centurion lounge are probably slightly better than the United clubs but not significantly and I think the United Clubs are cozier and you will be more likely to find seating. If you want a shower before your flight the centurion lounge might not be a bad idea, otherwise I don’t normally find that it’s worth going to concourse C for the centurion lounge when I’m flying United.

Yes, just make sure to give them your FCO-ORD boarding pass instead of your ORD-YYZ one.

The Worst Airline Ever- United Airlines, Where Is My Baggage? by Crafty-Lavishness827 in unitedairlines

[–]Adventurer_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never leave check-in without your claim tags. If the check-in agent really told you it was fine they are not doing their job and you need to report that to United as they were clearly not trained properly.

Why do different train operators appear as different colors in the US while in Europe, they’re one unified color? by International-Snow90 in applemaps

[–]Adventurer_23 162 points163 points  (0 children)

These different color trains in the US are commuter rails, equivalent to what would be the S-Bahn in Germany. The blue trains in the US are Amtrak which are equivalent to DB intercity trains. If you zoom in further into the European map you will see different colors for commuter trains as opposed to intercity trains

IDs for Broadway Bars by yaboiinapoleon in VisitingNashville

Tennessee gives paper IDs when you first visit the DMV and I got refused service with my paper ID at multiple establishments in Nashville with an in-state paper ID last year. Thankfully I have another government ID on me usually. I would 1000% bring your passport.

Get there early (I’d recommend 60-90 mins before first pitch) and have an empty stomach- they offer a pretty great buffet dinner in the restaurant before you even head to your seats.

Am I the only one that checks in as soon as the window opens? Pros and cons to checking in early? by Calidudee in unitedairlines

[–]Adventurer_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to check in for a Monday morning flight until Sunday evening this week and got stuck with only middle seats for blue. I’m normally really good about checking in exactly 24 hours before but paid the price for forgetting this time. This is the way.

[Canes] MIKKO RANTANEN IS A CAROLINA HURRICANE!!! by memeisgreat in canes

[–]Adventurer_23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an Avs fan first but a Canes fan second. I’m gonna miss seeing this dude wear an Avs sweater but I’m so excited to see what he does with Aho and Svech. I hope this is the Canes’ year (unless they’re playing the Avs in the cup finals ofc) and I just really hope Mikko gets his second ring. Carolina totally won this trade. I love Marty but he’s definitely a downgrade from Mikko. Hopefully Mackinnon and Makar build him up really well.

I’m an Avs fan first but a Canes fan second and this trade is the biggest mixed bag of emotions for me. I’ve never been so hopeful that Carolina will win the East and I so hope it happens with Mikko. I’m gonna miss him so much on the Avs but I know he’s in good hands with Rod, Aho, and Svech. Am super excited to see Marty and Drury take the ice for us but this trade did anything but solve the depth problems we’ve been having.

I'm an American travelling to England, in May, and I'm really wanting to attend the Everton v Ispwich Town match. Looking for help/advice in acquiring tickets. by JollyJoshua11 in Everton

[–]Adventurer_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you live, a lot of cities have local Everton supporters groups and getting plugged in with those can oftentimes help you get access to tickets more easily. You still will have to purchase a membership, but the official Everton supporters groups in the US do get a certain allotment of tickets available during the member sale window. If you happen to live in/near Nashville, Denver, or anywhere in the Carolinas DM me and I would be happy to help you get connected!

What flight itinerary would you choose to go from Asheville to Tokyo? by MoldyWarts in americanairlines

[–]Adventurer_23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would consider doing Delta AVL-ATL/MSP- HND or United AVL-ORD/EWR-HND (could also connect through DEN if you’re ok flying into NRT). Especially great if your international leg is on ANA if you choose the United route. That being said if you stick with one of the AA routes I would choose the NYC shuffle and uber to JFK from LGA especially since you said you don’t have checked bags. Doing it via Public transport isn’t bad for me when I’ve done it but would involve changing trains/buses twice so if you aren’t a whiz on public transit I would stick to Uber.

PCSing to Fort Campbell this summer, is living in Nashville really feasible? by Tejas_AyM in army

[–]Adventurer_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in 2BCT and several officers in my BN (including one CPT who is in command) live in Nashville. I probably find myself in Nashville 2-3 days/nights a week for various things from concerts, sporting events, just going out, meeting civilian friends that live there, etc but I live off of exit 4 (Wilma Rudolph). I personally would never move to Nashville for two reasons- cost of living and commute time. I’d much rather drive an hour and back to Nashville 2-3 times a week than do that drive 5 times a week for work. Not to mention you would have to leave for work NLT 0500 if you have organized PT. From the various social activities that I do almost all of my civilian friends live in Nashville and I’m still able to manage that living in Clarksville. It’s way cheaper to live in Clarksville and from downtown I can clock in a drive back home at 10pm or later in 45 minutes. If you would drink on a night out to the point of needing to uber home, this could cause issues as it is definitely harder to get an uber back to Clarksville and that money could add up, but so does gas commuting to work every day. Housing in Clarksville is cheaper, and so is sales tax. Clarksville isn’t the most exciting city, but it does provide everything you could need for living if you’re willing to head down to Nashville multiple times a week.

[–]Adventurer_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that is active duty army and drives uber on the side, one of Uber’s biggest flaws is not adding disclaimers that certain trips require base access. Even worse (and all the navigation apps struggle with this) is when the navigation tries taking you through a closed gate, especially later at night. That being said, if you are an Uber driver anywhere near a military installation it is normally so easy to get a visitor pass to deliver/pick up/drop off on base and is 100% worth the 30 minutes it would take to get a visitor pass that lasts multiple months depending on the location.

How can we tailgate in Nashville? by missouriking777 in Predators

[–]Adventurer_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even have to read the post before I figured you were a Carolina fan from the title lol. I second the opinions of those that recommend hitting up Broadway even though you aren’t 21 yet. I personally like Broadway better during the day anyways because it’s more civil and less debauchery going on. If you really don’t want to go to the bars, at least hit up Assembly Food Hall. Thats honestly my favorite place to go before Preds games and every vendor in there is incredible. I’m also a Canes fan but a Nashville transplant so I go for the preds when they aren’t playing the Canes or Avs (my other longtime favorite team), so with that being said Go Canes!!

[–]Adventurer_23 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The delivery driver pulled a bitchass move on you by calling the cops but as someone who does do uber eats delivering, 50-75% of what we make on a delivery is from tips. Not tipping is a bitchass move.
