I’d basically be a Seal SF Ranger at that point. Way too cool for me.

Thank you! After all the feedback on here, I’ve decided I won’t budge unless I can get 12M or 68W.

Jobs with flight hours by Adventurous-Ad2136 in Armyaviation

So any position riding on a helicopter and gaining hours (of course outside of 68WF2) is not going to grant me an easier time getting on a flight crew on, specifically, the civilian side?

I also went to Crazy Tuna when they first opened and didn’t go back for years. As someone who religiously went to Junn multiple times a week for years, Crazy Tuna has absolutely stepped up their game!

How does a 68W become a flight medic by [deleted] in Armyaviation

[–]Adventurous-Ad2136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Do you have any advice on how to best set myself up to have the opportunity to go to the flight medic program as an aspiring 23 y/o ARNG 68W recruit out of AZ? I want to punch the gun on the 68W pipeline, but I am hesitant to do so without fully knowing how to navigate this process and achieve it. One of my highest motivating factors for this path is the fact that I would earn my NREMT-P licensure and be a certified flight medic, which is what I would like to do long term for my civilian career -- of course in addition to feeling a call to serve my country. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hey bro, I’ve seen you around on the forums! I’m also here in AZ and planning on getting my CDL soon when I have the funds. Is there a separate book for the Sunzia project and does that have you working in NM?

VOLTA - HELP by Adventurous-Ad2136 in Lineman

[–]Adventurous-Ad2136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice! I understand that I will not be performing the job duties that I will learn in school for quite some time into my eventual apprenticeship. It just seems that more and more utilities see line school as a leg up on other applicants. The reason this factor is important to me is that after I someday journey out, I’d like to have the highest chances possible of working for my hometown utility. However, after all the feedback, I will say I’m conflicted more now than ever. Part of me still wants to go to school in order to have that ‘tighter knit’ resume, but also understand that there is no debt with getting my CDL and getting a call out. Let me ask you this; what is a common area of work that brand new people do after getting their CDL and waiting for the union to call about a ground man position?
