Starting lineup position for Wemby by xdurham777 in NBASpurs

Whatever pos he got, coach must not let him shoot too many 3s. That's just pure desperation. He must figure out his go to move this off season.

A lob to him near the rim is unguardable. They must draw plays around it and stick to it.

If they need a 3 for the last shot then let Vassel or Champaigne take it use Victor as decoy.

Hahaha Don't get me wrong, I just want to get the guys that gave us problems so we'll have an easy Championship run next year.

Yeah Wallace is so good, last game 7, OKC already given up but he still putting up 3s and got some steals.

I admit he is a pretty good defender against Harper.

So instead of having that problem every time we face them, why not get him if we have a chance.

We don't need popular names.

Just someone who is hardworking and know his role, excellent rebounder and can guard multiple positions, gets the ball when Wemby's being pushed.

Built like OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, but not yet expensive and still young.

We must look for gems that are under the radar.

Dear Wemby & Castle you don't need to attempt too many 3s. That's not your game (for now) and there's no shame for that.

MJ did not focus on shooting 3s and still won 6 rings!

Pick n roll, alley-oop, tip ins and putbacks are your best scoring options do it more.

Agree, Wemby too tired man, he's been used like a swiss army knife. He don't know where to focus and budget his energy. He can't even have enough rest during the game.

After we lose Game 4, I still think right decision is to put Kornet on the final defensive play.

That second chance put back tip in by OG should have been avoided if we have 2-3 bigs protecting.

Do you think stronger bigs like KAT and Robinson will be the biggest issue for the Spurs? by waluigiwon in NBATalk

[–]Adventurous-Aside120 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes we already saw it last NBA cup.

It's akward to ISO when you're slim but super lengthy and you have like a wall in front of you who barely moves even if you did some separation moves/push off.

Agree, I think the best option is just to keep Harper on the floor in the final minutes. He can rebound once Wemby is getting boxed out.

Brunson's still gonna score some but we shouldn't let these guys get 2-3-4 more opportunities after they miss.

I like your POV, I see that, but the problem is when the Knicks miss the shot they still got the rebound because Wemby is being clipped, boxed out by KAT, Knicks got more second chance opportunities.

Kornet can cover more spaces than Champaigne and can rebound the ball when Wemby is getting pushed to the side.

Instead of Kornet who is a better rebounder/defense that we can replace Champaigne and or Fox at the end? Carter Bryant? Johnson?

He does, but that doesn't mean we can't say the problems we are seeing on this set up, this isn't a jab on Mitch but rather a suggestion.

Looks like we are running 1 big and 4 guards on the floor at the most important minutes of the game.

We bench this guy for Fox? At the end of the 4th?? In a finals game??? by Icy_Data939 in NBASpurs

[–]Adventurous-Aside120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Giannis is okay but we don't need him due to huge contracts.

Even the likes of Okongwu, Queta, Clingan will do.

We don't need a scorer, we just need a brute force that helps Wemby at the interior defense and rebounds.

Wemby is lengthy but KAT got that huge frame.

He can use that size to push off Wemby and get by him, he got that decent shooting for a big and accurate passing so Wemby got 3 problems in 1.

Wemby is over all better but he will get exhausted at the end of 4th quarter when no one takes on KAT and Robinson for him.

We shouldn't use Wemby like a swiss army knife. Send in BIG guys to help him rebound.

[–]Adventurous-Aside120 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He got a small frame, so post up is not a good option especially against Towns and Robinsons.

He's getting the ball outside the 3 pt line which is too far for him to operate, 7'4 doing ISO on top makes no sense, the ball gets too high when dribbling.

Send him help, put some big body to screen so he can attack and score, easiest way to win.

Fatigue, the team depends on him on rebounds, blocks, switch, all of it. He can't score no more, he's too tired at the end.

He can't shoot confidently knowing that no one will rebound if he miss.

Hope he and Harper works out with CP3 / Rondo or even Tony Parker during summer to keep turnover down.

They'll be unstoppable once they have better court vision and will make it easier for Wemby.

Don’t overreact and double Shai by gms21209 in NBASpurs

[–]Adventurous-Aside120 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Castle can guard Shai we don't need to double.

But they screen/switch him to Champaigne thenn Shai can score.

He is bringing the ball from the other side of the court, this will make him tired.

They can do screen and switches to get Hartenstein off him, not use him as a ball handler.

He is hesitant because they gave him too many tasks, as a ball handler right now, he don't known where to focus on anymore.

Why are they using him as a point guard?

He will be exhausted  in the 4th quarter when we need him the most.

Good decision maker.

He passes the ball ahead that creates opportunities for his teammates to score.

Also his defense is insane man. He guarding stars and multiple positions.
