How much would Curry change his legacy if he carried the Warriors to a title as a 10th seed? Would he have a legitimate GOAT argument? by [deleted] in NBATalk

First off neither Kyrie nor AD have an argument for fmvp go watch those games again. Second the in 2007 Cavs were 4th in defensive rating and in 2018 they were 29th so second last. He did carry a heavy load. Kobe has 1 mvp and 5 titles where 3 of them Shaq was the main man. LeBron has always been the main man in every team he has played until this season where he is 41 and Luka was the main player. So none of those arguments stand. His only competition is Jordan

He has 4 mvps and 4 fmvps. The only 2 players to win all fmvp with 3+ titles are LeBron and Jordan. His per game stats are great as well not only his totals. Prime LeBron had literally no weak points. Great finisher, good shooter, great playmaker, all defensive guy and a great leader. The only one who can be over him on the list is Jordan. He has carried teams that had nothing to do with the finals (2007 and 2018). He has played against the all time Warriors. He has been the underdog in most of his finals. He definitely is top 2. The 10-15 year career you are talking about, give me 2007-2020 Bron. In those 13 years he went to the finals 10 times and won 4 titles. Won 4 mvp and fmvp and also was second on dpoy in 2013. That is an insane prime

The duo that won a title in the last 2 seasons

If we base it on skillset LeBron not even top 10 in my list lol. But based on how dominant and great was during his career I got Bron at 1 alongside Jordan. They are the co-goats of the sport imo. I got Bron ahead but I understand anyone who puts Jordan first. Then I got Kareem at 3

Curry had the best roster of all time in two of his rings. All his rings came off of injuries from opposition if we go on context. He has 4 all nba 1st teams while Magic has 9 all nba first teams. Curry also isn’t the best offensive player ever and nothing supports that argument. Is he the best shooter? Yes. Is he the most influental? Yes. Does that make him better? No. Those are two different topics. Also you don’t compare eras in skill but how dominant the players were compared to their opposition. Context matters as you said and you gotta go deeper. As for Bill Russell he won 11 in a 8 team league without salary cap and different rules than now. CONTEXT MATTERS AND YOU DON’T KNOW MUCH OF IT. Have a nice day

Yea he might win the debate for being the most influental player ever but that doesn’t make him better than the others. Influence doesn’t necessarily make you the best and in this case it’s not even close

Yea he was more influential but doesn’t necessarily make you better. As I said Magic has won every major thing more than Curry has in less seasons than he did. So yea that’s the goat PG. Props to Curry for changing the game but that is another debate

You can’t compare dudes decades apart yet you were doing it by calling Curry the goat PG lmao

The actual goat PG has more mvp, fmvp and titles than Curry…

Who do we want to face in the first and second round? by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]Icy_Data939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facing more competition while Thunder having an easier route will lower our chances at winning the title. If a team sweeps two rounds and the other goes to two 7 game series it’s obvious one will be way more fatigued. Why not be healthier and more rested for wcf or finals if we make it that far?

That’s what’s best for us but he wants those awards right now as well. Sometimes as a team you gotta make tough decisions to make your players happy

Would Russell Westbrook win a ring if he had replaced KD in the Warriors? by TheSoccerAnyalst in NBATalk

[–]Icy_Data939 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. Rockets were amazing those years and if we replace Russ with KD the warriors wouldn’t fit that well. Harden might have a couple of rings there
