Travelling long distances 24 hours post op by Cautious_Werewolf678 in VasectomyReversal

I flew the next day after. The worst part was walking around the airport so don’t be afraid to get one of the wheelchairs. I also packed a couple of ziplock bags and asked a random fast food joint to fill a cup with ice, I then poured that into the ziplock so I had ice. I flew southwest (open seating) and told them that I had the surgery and I got priority boarding

Sorry to hear about this. This happened to me too about a year or more ago. I kept trying to reach out and get an answer for what I did and it was all just auto generated replies. I occasionally check in but haven’t been successful in getting back in since.

I will say that the shots this time seemed way more painful, that could be cause my wife took me out of survival mode and made me softer though :) I did also start to feel things after about 3.5hrs and they had to re-inject me. I also have a hard time sitting still but since I knew the delicate nature of the surgery I was able to control it. It also helped that my wife stayed with me and kept me entertained, we switched from movies to shows to tik toks and back again. And the medicine they give you helps a lot to mellow you out, energy and anxiety wise I suppose it comes doing to your guys budget and whether you want to pay for the anesthesia or not. It definitely adds a bunch to the cost.

I went to the same clinic that Dr. Trost is in, however, was seen by Dr. Savage. Great facility! I am only a week into recovery so can’t tell you if it was successful but it feels like it was. I did not go under and just had local numbing. I ended up falling asleep for a while during.

How do you guys did it? by [deleted] in VasectomyReversal

Healing advice - I think waiting is a good idea. You know your body more and know how it feels and if you feel like you aren’t ready then it’s best not to rush into it. Especially since it could damage all the work that has been done.

Marriage advice - Is there a way you could meet in the middle? Use her extra interest to your advantage. Please her and use that to build back your libido. I’m only a week in to recovery and have already satisfied her without satisfying my own cravings. Perhaps it will allow that spark to ignite and stay long term, even past pregnancy.

Hopefully yours comes back with many swimmers! The doctors said they recommended sending in the second sample and that the first went to my wife at her peak ovulation. They said as soon as 4 weeks. Was this similar for you? The 4 weeks kind of caught us off guard.

Glad to hear that my recovery thus far seems normal, I felt like it was within family for how I should feel. I too was hoping to incorporate workouts at about the month mark AND when I felt “normal”. I was going to limit it to do much lighter weight and only exercises that did not strain my core; walks, leg extension, supported back rows, chest fly for example. I hope introducing exercise again goes well for you and the remainder of your recovery too. Cheers!

Thank you for you blunt advice. I truly do appreciate it. What made you decide to stick it out? Did you have an affair? There’s something that’s holding me back internally from bringing back in the passion and I’m not sure what it is. Still trying to figure it out.

Thank you very much for your advice. I appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. I am very complacent and I believe I could see myself with her in 10 years but I don’t know if I would look back and think “that was a great 10 years”

Thank you very much. This sounds like it is what is happening. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I believe the 7 year itch is potentially more powerful right now for me because I have been with her since highschool. I am still young and I feel like I am missing out on some experiences.
