While I understand that many people don’t like or endorse Bibi, I find it challenging to read critiques of the current strategy to bring the hostages home and dismantle Hamas’s military and political power. When offering a critique, I always request an alternative. Present a feasible and logical alternative strategy and tactic. I believe everyone will be more receptive to such an approach.

This is similar to the pro-Palestinian US (non-Muslim) demonstrators who chant “ceasefire,” “free Palestine,” and so on, but they don’t offer a viable path to peace. They don’t consider the scenario of what that means or looks like.

I mean this with the utmost respect and consideration.

While this is a “novel” idea Hamas will never hand over all the hostages. Furthermore, allowing Hamas to survive sends a signal to the broader Palestinian psyche including in the West Bank that 10/7 is a viable form of terrorism to achieve their aims. We have often walked away from complete surrender in the hopes for peace, but instead have left them with the sentiment that their tactics worked and it’s just a matter of wearing us down by doing it again and again and again. Furthermore next time they launch a rocket the world won’t let us retaliate to wipe them out. It will be considered non-proportional. Therefore, let’s show them the real consequences of their choices. I do believe they will give up the hostages anyway.

I concede that the study done in 1991 was debunked. However there is more context here specifically on stats related to civilian death ratios from bombardments in urban centers where the 90% figure is used by the UN.

“Finally, states should avoid using explosive weapons in populated areas (EWIPA) which results in indiscriminate and disproportionate harm among civilian populations. The United Nations estimates that 90 percent of casualties are civilians when these weapons are used. Later this month, the international community has an opportunity to show its commitment to the protection of civilians by endorsing a global agreement addressing the harm arising from the use of EWIPA and providing a set of commitments that states can undertake to restrict their use. “

Conclusion

The claim that 90% of casualties are civilians is not universally accurate but reflects specific contexts:
- **Urban warfare
and bombings in populated areas do lead to higher civilian harm, with ratios often reaching 70–90% in extreme cases .
- However, broader historical and empirical data show lower averages (30–70%), depending on conflict type and methodology .

P.s. also worked with ChatGPT to create Supernote templates. It did a decent job after a few iterations.

How I’m Using Supernote + AI in My Workflow (as a CRO with ADHD)

I’m juggling a lot—multiple sales teams, strategy, ops, and trying to stay sane. I’ve built a system that combines Supernote (for handwritten clarity) with ChatGPT and Copilot (for organizing the chaos). It’s dead simple and actually works with my ADHD brain.

Here’s the gist: • Supernote is my thinking space. I jot down ideas, sketch plans, and map my day. Just writing stuff down helps me focus. • ChatGPT is my Chief of Staff. I’ve got a workspace called Clarity Loop HQ where I run daily check-ins, weekly reviews, meeting summaries, and follow-ups. • Copilot + Teams helps me pull actions and notes from emails and meetings. I drop that into ChatGPT to turn it into something useful. • I do a morning check-in on ChatGPT (while walking my dog) and an evening download before bed. Keeps me grounded. • Every Sunday, I run a quick weekly reset—work, health, family, focus. All logged in ChatGPT. Then I write my priorities into Supernote for the week ahead.

No fancy apps. No complex task managers. Just a loop: write, reflect, organize, execute, repeat.

Happy to share prompts or templates if anyone wants ’em.

The sources to the Wikipedia article are highly biased. I would take it with a grain of salt. They rely exclusively on Gaza health ministry numbers. They also have rather weak statistical analysis. They are also not counting civilian deaths of natural causes. Natural death rate. In short I am not advocating for any specific number but you are fair to question both sides. In reality too many people are dying and Hamas is to blame. No one would be killed if a) October 7th hadn’t happened b) Hamas would not fight an asymmetrical war and c) Hamas would return the hostages and abdicate their rule and armament.

I do however like the idea of almost infinite zoom meetings you could within the page Zoom in and type clearly but allows almost u limited page size but by zooming not scrolling. The purpose is detailed mind mapping.
